The GOOD, The BAD, and The UGLY ⌠of an iFly Corporate Package
My Company recently purchased a 52-flight package for 10 people at the Long Island City, Queens iFly location. Hereâs the scoop:
The GOOD: Flying is lots of fun. The overall experience was excellent. The staff/instructors were very friendly and engaged. Great time all-around.
The BAD: It is a relatively small space with no changing room and only one single-use bathroom. There were tons of kidsâ parties on the day that we were there (a Saturday) and one bathroom is simply not enough. I tried to use the bathroom to change clothes, but some kid's mom kept banging on the door. I have a three-year-old of my own, so I gave up on changing and got out. Don't want any accidents.
The UGLY: With a corporate package, you donât really get what you pay for (and corporate packages are not cheap). First, the 52-flight package is a misnomer. You are not purchasing flights, you are actually purchasing time, and the number of flights that you ultimately get depends on your group and instructors. With a 52-flight package you actually get one hour of flight time. Our group of 10 moved very efficiently, but there is always some down time (i.e., the flight instructor may take some time to explain or demonstrate something, also the instructors work in 30-minute shifts, so there is a switch at the 30-minute mark). Anyway, during our one-hour slot, our group got 40 flights, rather than the 52 that we thought we had purchased. Second, a few days after the event I learned that we were supposed to get one âhigh flightâ per person â which is where they fly you all the way up to the top of the wind tunnel. No one explained this to us when we purchased the package and no one discussed it with us or offered it to us at the location. Not great that we missed out on a part of the package that definitely looks like a lot of fun. Just be sure to be know what you...

Let me just say this: iFLY was way more fun than I expected. Iâm not gonna lie, I was a little nervous at first, they suit you up like youâre about to step into a windstorm (because you are), but the energy in there is dope. Everyoneâs hyped, the instructors are super chill and encouraging, and the vibe is just high.
The wind tunnel? BABY. Itâs no joke. The second you lean in, youâre in the air like some kind of cosmic superhero. I thought I was gonna flop, but your girl actually held it down arms straight, legs back, core tight. I could hear them yelling âGood job!â through the noise, and I swear I was grinning like a kid the whole time.
My instructor did the high fly with me too we went spinning up toward the top of the tunnel and then glided back down and I swear I felt like I was in a Marvel movie. If youâve ever dreamed about flying, do this. The adrenaline is real, but it's not scary itâs just freedom.
Also⌠letâs talk logistics: They explain everything before you go in, they suit you up tight, and the whole thing feels safe, clean, and professional, but still FUN. Youâre not just watching people fly youâre flying too. And if you bring people with you, theyâll be screaming for you in the viewing area like itâs a show đ
10/10 would do again. Iâm already thinking about taking Jaeden next time. Highly recommend, especially if youâre the kind of person who needs to get out of your head and into your body. Itâs liberating.

Again, this was the best experience ever!! The people made it a great, safe time for me. I came early so I was the only one. I would give it a 10 out of 10 for both experience and customer friendliness! Bijan was my flight person and he...
Read moreI believe I can iFly đľ Oh the adrenaline! I took my 10yo here on the last week of summer break, and both of us flew. The staff members were very friendly and professional.
Some important notes: Parking is easier during the morning times Wear laced shoes They have free lockers They provide earplugs, head scarfs, and helmets If you have long hair, tie it low securely The posture is about being relaxed, not tense You don't need to be fit to try, the instructor will hold you securely Each flight is about 60 seconds, it sounds short but it's actually enough because of how much force and excitement you experience each session High flight is recommended Remember to keep smiling, the photos/videos come out a lot better that way! You can sign up for additional flights at the spot, if you want to You'll get personalized certificates in the end đ
On the 1st flight, I was busy looking at the instructions on the screen and the staff's hand signs, on the 2nd flight, I closed my eyes and pretended I was in the sky, just letting my body glide, and enjoy every second.
After the flights were done, I felt like a new personđŞ˝
Both my son and I had a really good time. I purchased an additional package at a discount (which is only available there), to return in the future.
The waiting area is very spacious so while the flyers/guests are waiting, they can take pictures or relax on the high chairs/tables, I'm thinking about suggesting this to my company as a group event. It's just as fun to watch others fly as flying yourself.
