If you have painful menstrual cycles - read on!
Canât say enough good things about this place! Cynthia has been my massage therapist for almost ten years and she is absolutely phenomenal! Iâm a trained massage therapist myself so I am highly critical & picky about who I let touch my body. Cynthia is the real deal. She understands how the body works and how to correct tight muscles to help you with pain, posture & relaxation. Plus sheâs a stellar human. I always leave our sessions feeling physically & emotionally rejuvenated
Recently at Cynthiaâs recommendation I had an appointment with Alex the herbalist. My husband and I are trying to conceive and we have had a difficult time. I have polycystic ovarian syndrome (pcos) so my cycles + hormones are irregular, painful and unpleasant. I did a virtual consult with Alex and explained what was happening. She recommended vaginal steaming that I could do at home. She then made me a custom blend of herbs that she shipped to me with directions on how to vaginal steam. They do offer steaming at earth and sky I just felt more comfortable doing at home. Alex was so helpful throughout this entire process I was able to message with her if I had any questions and she was more than happy to answer all my questions and to be so supportive.
I will say that the steam felt very underwhelming I guess I thought something magical would happen and the only thing that happened was that my legs felt a little minty.
Fast forward to later on in the month when I got my period. FIRST OF ALL - I am celebrating a 31 day cycle. Typically my cycles are 35 to 45 days apart which is not healthy and does not support ovulation. To get a cycle 31 days apart is basically a miracle!
Ladies, you know how you know that your period is coming? Your breast hurt, you feel crampy, youâre miserable? Well to my surprise none of that happened and I got my period. Day two and three of my cycle which are typically literally hell on earth - I have minimal pain and cramping, I HAVE ENERGY, and the blood is visibly brighter and healthier.
So even though at the time the steaming felt very underwhelming Iâm convinced that it did some thing because Iâve been having horrible menstrual cycles Since I was nine years old.
Iâm getting closer to pregnancy - I can feel it!
Needless to say I am so happy! And I never even wouldâve attempted a vaginal steam without the help of Cynthia and Alex!
Thank you...
Read moreI wanted to like this place especially because I hadn't had a massage in 8 months. Unfortunately, this establishment was a complete fail. Upon walking in, you feel a bit lost as it's a shared business, so you have to walk down a long hallway to properly enter (otherwise you end up in a waiting room that's not monitored). Upon entering, you are greeted by an attacking fluorescent light- literally one of the last things you want shining on you at a massage clinic. Secondly, there are high windows in the massage rooms which lets in the terrible fluro light, so there's not a sense of peace and calm in the room. My therapist did an OK job. I asked for a relaxing massage, nothing deep issue or too intense, but my massage was in fact deep tissue. She twisted my forearms in a way they had never been twisted before. I made a cringing face, but she just kept going. She also used her forearms and dug into my muscles. This is not a form of relaxation in my opinion. I haven't had a bad massage in 7 years, but I would classify today as a bad massage. If you wanted a sports massage, then it would probably be good for you. The worst part of all was leaving the massage room... I was covered in oil. Honestly, completely covered. I could have slid down a dry slip'n'slide I was so oily. I'm used to massage clinics offering a warm, wet towel to wipe off with when you're done with a massage. Some great therapists even wipe you down before you get off the table. In expected fashion, my Lulu Lemon workout pants are now stained with oil, along with my sports bra and workout t-shirt. I was furious. I had nothing to wipe myself down with and I just ruined nice workout gear. I'm sure other people wouldn't mind being oily and getting a sports massage, but if you're looking for a relaxing top-notch massage clinic, this is unfortunately not it. Truly not worth the price...
Read moreUPDATING REVIEW: the owner did reach out and provided a credit toward another service. This was much appreciated and the second service was better. Thank you.
I recently had a massage here and I was really excited after reading all of the reviews. Unfortunately my experience did not hold up to the reviews (but I also was with a therapist not listed in the reviews either, I shouldâve been more selective with picking someone). My therapist was very nice and friendly but my massage was extremely average and was not the full hour. For $120 I was expecting a very thorough massage that lasted the entire time but that didnât happen. When I arrived I was greeted, offered water and filled out paperwork. We went into the room on time, but my massage didnât start until 15 minutes later and was not the full hour. I was cut short by 5 minutes. I know itâs not that much, but when you pay full city pricing you expect the entire time. I expressed that I had lower back tightness and shoulder pressure and my massage was more of a lotion rub rather than working out any muscle knots or tension areas. Also, after the massage I wasnât asked about the experience or if I wanted water. I believe she was just ready to move into her next client, which I understand but did feel a little pushed to the side at that point. Overall it was one of my least favorite massages Iâve ever received. You could also hear people coming in and out of the doors close by during the massage which was a bit distracting. Also, the lights were on the entire time and not dim either. I suppose I couldâve asked to lower the lights, but thought that was typical during a massage. While my therapist was very very nice and respectful, I wasnât not pleased with my massage as a service and will...
