Warning!! Please be careful everyone My first time going there was really nice and I love the lady who cut my kids hair she is a wonderful lady❤️ so I was happy to take my son again and made a appointment for today. Now I had I really bad experience with the lady who mange the phone calls!! 😭 Back story I had made appointment for my son for today from 1pm to 1:30 pm all my appointments were made through the app. Then yesterday I made 2 more appointments but first I check if they had anything available so they did. I made 2 more appointments for which was for 2pm to 3pm and the other one for 3pm to 4pm and my appointment was accepted. Now keep in mind I live in the Bronx so as I was getting ready this lady calls me saying that she has to accommodate me because each kid takes 1 hr and ask me if there hair was really tangle. I was surprised to hear that since I already book the appointments and was for de tangle hair and cut time 1hr. Since that call I started getting emails that she had change my appointments so many times and then I received another call her telling me that other workers were going to be doing my kids hair because “ I am taking to much of their time by booking for 3 hrs” you can’t imagine the feeling I had when I heard that. I let it go and didn’t say nothing. So as I keep checking my emails I see they change more even one to 4pm and for a different treatment so k called and me trying to be nice since seems to me she’s having a problem with me booking 3 appointments I told her I would like to cancel and decided to blame me for it by telling her that I see different workers and that I wanted the same nice lady who took care of my son with autism last time to do my little girls hair and as soon as I told her she tried to force me to go to the appointments and told me that she is trying to help me and accommodate me and she was already screaming at me and giving me actitudes then she told me that she will also charge me for canceling when I never had no problem at going but did had a problem with her telling me that am taking a lot of time from them by creating 3 appointments so I got so upset and ask her why she is trying to force me to go when she’s having trouble and changing my appointments around. So now k got 3 invoices of her charging me $20 when she made the entire mess. I also will love to speak to the owner of this place because this is not okey. I have the emails I have proof of all the mess she did and how she force and threaten me to charge me when k actually call to cancel. Almost 2 hrs before and just because of her actions and actitud. I will leave here photos of my actual appointment and all the changes she did. Keep in mind cancelation fee says if you do not cancel in the morning or if u don’t arrive or come 10 minutes late a cancellation fee will be charged. I cancel by phone before 12 pm and then around one I started canceling in the app and the reason was because of her blaming me for making 3 appointments. She also put that I was being rude when I actually have proof of all the mess she did just because of my appointments being 3 children. Why accept my appointments if she had problems with me taking 3 appointments. I will try to reach out the owner and make a video about it because this is not okey. I will be also explain this same thing in Spanish so people can be aware that this lady has problems for making more than one appointment.

The owner is very unprofessional This is a response to the owner Jen : I don’t think your understanding you have a policy you expect customers to be there early, we get their 10 minutes earlier. We booked an appointment with you and you tell me that no that it was with the other lady. You make it seem like we were lying when we showed you the proof for confirmation. We asked if you can cut his hair after you where done with the child. You said no because you had someone else after I showed you the proof, so now you had me cut my sons hair with the néw girl that basically experimented with my sons hair. Do you think that’s professional ?

It looks horrible. When she noticed my discontent she offered to keep cutting on top to blend. She kept cutting in an attempt to fix it- it did not. She said "Ok so you just have to wait for it to grow out, I should have used #4". The owner then agreed and said " well boys cuts usually look like that". No apologies, no attempt to remediate, just an "oh well now it needs to grow attitude". The kid friendly chairs are not enough reason to go and risk a bad haircut, especially as it seems everyone leaves with the same cut- it just happens to work for some hair types and not others.

I’m here to do an honest review based on me and my child experience here. So I found this “Kid friendly” haircut place by my own research. It wasn’t too far from home and the price for a boy haircut was affordable $20. From my own personal experience with other barbers around the way being a bit too rough with my son or they’re just too expensive. So I took a chance and wanted to see if they were able to achieve the same results but in a more kid friendly way and of course in a kid friendly environment. I did call the business ahead of time and asked if they cut kinky/curly/thick hair textures. Basically African-American hair texture. I was told they do it all. So I suppose they do not discriminate. Before I get into the specifics, I want to first mention that one of the staff whom I was greeted by & who also ended up being the one finishing my child’s haircut was very very sweet and nice and professional. The atmosphere is very kid friendly. A Cute space for kids to be a kid there while/during their haircut session. There are enough toys to be played with, my son absolutely loved this haircut shop and didn’t want to leave. At the end of the haircut appointment they also provided him with a balloon and lollipop.

Cons: The disappointing part about this first time visit, was that they had a very very hard time getting hair off my son’s head. Or even cutting it as low as possible, effectively and quickly. Which was saddening and very embarrassing for my child. Being a black woman with a black child with black hair texture. My son never had this kind of issue any where else with anyone. I never had anyone say that their clippers guard couldn’t cut through and cut down my sons hair. That to me only showed me that this kid friendly haircut shop isn’t a “ one shoe fits all “ unfortunately. The first lady had to switch with another one because she couldn’t cut my child African-American hair. Any child or person of any ethnic background , especially with thick course hair should be able to get a seamless haircut without no problems at any haircut shop they walk into. However, kids there with a more European hair texture got their haircut with no issues. My son barely had 1-2 inch of hair growth. It was his hair texture sadly.. But to not make this situation anymore embarrassing than what it is, I settled for a haircut for him that did not meet most expectations to lessen the hard work and difficulty of this haircut appointment. However my son was happy with his haircut. The end result wasn’t the best but it was OK at most and should have been better for $20. This place of businesses would have gotten a 5 star if it wasn’t because of this unfortunate first time experience. Will we visit again ? I’m Not so sure. But if they can get the proper and stronger clippers for all hair textures that is including BLACK ( course, kinky, curly, ) hair textures we...

Patricia has been cutting my son's hair for almost a year and has progressively been getting less and less patient. Today she immediately came off annoyed. We always do a scissors cut and I won't say it's always easy, but we have had Jen or even Maria step in to finish off. But her first words to me today after I said the usual scissors, were "arg if he let's us." The attitude was off from the start. She didnt even want to put on the cape for him, she just tossed it to me and told me to put it on. I tried my best to have my son still or distracted. He didn't move more than usual so to be honest I didn't see this any different than any other time and Patricia just decides to walk away, then get Jen, who like never before didn't provide any assistance or solutions. And Patricia just says we cant finish cutting and walks away. Mind you his hair was choppy at best. He had multiple long random patches. I simply said that she couldnt leave him like this. In no way would i expect the haircut to be completed but at least evened out in the back as much as possible. Ironically, Maria did try to help and she did assist, but in the background I had my mother arguing with Patricia. At some point she started recording because Patricia was being absolutely nasty when my mom was telling her that she didn't finish the cut. She even called my mother a "vieja pendeja" which we have on video and yet I'm being told by Jen to control my mother. She needed to control her staff. I won't defend my mother for recording her because I know she was upset that we weren't really being given any help, but I told her to stop arguing because at that point it was a waste of breathe. Patricia was nasty, Jen did nothing to help despite this being her salon and Maria despite trying to originally help, she immediately took the side of her coworkers. This being their place of work, I would also hope that professionalism would be the culture but everything said was absolutely ridiculous. I was just trying to leave at that point because there was no real solution. The staff attitude was nasty and i have never seen so much unprofessionalism. They specialize in kids cuts and again in no way was this appointment different than any other we have had, but it was just the worst experience we had. Maybe holiday times are just not the times to come, based on the recent bad reviews. Patience wears thin despite it being a place...
