Ok so here's how this goes. This place sucks. Besides that fact that it took 9 months to open when they promised they were opening "next Friday," the pool still isn't open. That's that. I think the staff layed out the floor plan with blindfolds on. There's two smith machines with no mirrors. There's 5 different stomach machines spread out all over the place. The dumbbells only go up to 100lbs. And best of all, all the benches are bolted to the ground in the dumb bell section. Try grabbing one you need at 7 at night when it's crowded, you can't, because these retards screwed them into the floor.
Next, to deal with these members. No rules are enforced. You have to wait for the 1, yes 1, squat rack while some twenty year old pulls he sneakers on and off in between each set.
Thirsty? Why not walk back and forth the whole gym for a sip from the water fountain! No need for one in the middle of the weight room, where the majority of the people are right? Blindfolds I tell you, blindfolds!
Lastly, ok they're a new gym, people are signing up all the time. There is absolutely no reason why the membership card scanner is not on top on the counter. Why do I have to wait for some bozo to sign some loser up who's never going to come to the gym anyway, to begin my workout? Put the scanner on the top of the counter, plain and simple. Oh yea, open the pool too. Some people did...
Read moreI recently had a bad experience with one of the Zumba or whatever it is that they do, but one of those instructors came up to me while I was working out and asked me to leave the room, mind you a few days ago I was told by one of your workers that the room was open to all members.
Yesterday before this incident happened, I came in into the room and it was empty so I started doing stretches before I went to do my exercises, one the Zumba instructor came in and I asked her if I had to leave and she told me that it was ok and I didn’t have to leave so I stayed in the room minding my business doing my stretches, next class comes in and I’m about to finish my workout and this is when the next instructor comes up to me asking me to leave the room, which was honestly kinda embarrassing to me because I was told that it was ok for me to stay in the room.
I was never told that this classes were private or at least this room was private, there is a small area where I could do my workout but there was people already there doing their own workouts and like a mentioned it’s a very small area so there wasn’t anywhere else for me to do my workouts.
So is this room private or what? As someone who’s paying a subscription every month why can’t I share the room with other people while they mind their business and I mind my business as well. This isn’t about YOU...
Read more"I recently had a fantastic experience at LA Fitness on Forest Ave on Staten Island. I was advised by the front desk staff member Alberto that my member is not active. Alberto is always greeting me everyday makes you feel welcome. I then contacted my insurance that gave me a very hard time with no resolution. The insurance just stated I do not have a fitness program. I then went back and asked Alberto to help me talk to a manger. I am on a fixed income and needed help. The manager Hamza Jaber explained the different plans and how to go back to the insurance company and make sure I have one of them. Being a senior for many years it’s hard to understand the plans needed for the gym. This information made me see I needed to change my insurance and luckily they helped me in a timely manner I just had enough time to do that for this fiscal year. The team at LA Fitness went above and beyond to help me. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and supportive, providing personalized guidance that really made a difference. The facility itself is top-notch, with great equipment and a welcoming atmosphere. I highly recommend LA Fitness to anyone looking to address their fitness goals with expert help and a friendly...
