I had three of my kids here, all 3 different levels which they did give me a discount. They do allow you to make up up to 2 classes. They are not so friendly or communicative at all. Some coaches don’t even greet you-I thought we were adults-I guess not and they are all of different ages so no excuse. There is a manager that is rude and has been told off by some parents myself included. To be honest with this manager I felt he was a bit racist as he seemed to be nicer to other parents than myself, but things did change for a bit when I talked to him ( I’m guessing he thought I didn’t speak English) Not a comfortable feeling for a place your kids are going to. He seems too strict for a place with kids- no running, no taking too loud- these are kids. The receptionists were the best out of all of them. They have a waiting room where you can wait and see your kids through a window, but if the seats are full you have to wait in the hallway where you can’t see your kids at all. I also read about an older female coach being too aggressive with the kids so I made sure I was always present. That didn’t help as when I asked my daughter how is she with her she told me she was mean and told me she was gripping her tight by the arm when she made a mistake. I lost it! These are kids, my daughter is 4 years old, she’s here to learn and enjoy gymnastics not train for the Olympics. That coach was lucky it was our last two sessions and we were home by then. I called immediately and asked to speak to her and they said she couldn’t come to the phone. I informed the front desk and called the following day-and again she wasn’t available. I never got a call back from her or the place with an explanation. My daughter did not want to go again and I understood the reason. So I would not recommend this place-please read the reviews and ask your children...
Read moreAs a coach who has been working at Lana’s Gymnastics Club for years, I’d like to share a different perspective.
The Pearl Gala was created as a special event to celebrate our gymnasts’ progress, confidence, and all the hard work they’ve put in throughout the year. We, the coaches, spent extra hours after our regular schedule decorating the gym, setting up balloons, and creating a beautiful atmosphere for the kids and their families. We also trained each child to learn and perform their routines with pride and that takes a lot of dedication, both from the children and from us as their coaches.
Participation in the Gala was completely optional. For those who chose to be part of it, the $35 participation fee covered things like medals, and the extra preparation and coaching leading up to the performance. The $10 entrance fee for parents helped cover the cost of organizing the event including decorations, setup, and staffing. Fees like these are very common for end-of-year events in gymnastics, dance, music, and similar programs.
It’s disheartening to see such harsh reviews focused only on money, rather than the joy and pride the children felt performing in front of their parents. Our goal is - and has always been - to support our students and help them grow, both in gymnastics and in life.
Lana’s Gymnastics Club is far from a business that “only cares about money.” We care about our athletes, and we put our hearts into helping them grow, not just as gymnasts, but as young individuals.
It’s very sad to see these kinds of negative reviews, especially when so much love and effort went into this event. Hopefully, the parents who appreciated the experience will take a moment to share something kind — because those words mean a lot to...
Read moreMy daughter has been taking classes here on and off (due to my work schedule) for over 5 years. She also attended summer camp for 3 years. The staff is usually busy but will make time for you. After not attending for 6 months, I can call them and mention my daughter and they remember who she is. They are strict but that is what helps kids stay safe and succeed. I have heard people complain about the strict manner of the instructors then wonder why their children are not great at gymnastics. Any sport or physical activity requires determination, alertness, hard work and discipline. This is what they teach the kids. How to succeed in life. How to pay attention and follow direction. If you want your child to learn gymnastics, have great technique and build their body strength then I highly recommend Lana's Gymnastics. My daughter has learned so much and is now learning to apply those skills to everything she does including dance at Jorday Rivera's Dance Studio where, thanks to Lana's Gymnastics, she has wow'ed everyone with her flexibility and grace. Everyone here is wonderful. Best of all, there is a lot of diversity and the staff welcome you regardless of your nationality. They are welcoming and encourage all of the children to learn about each other's cultures and languages. My daughter learned phrases in three different languages during her first year of summer camp. She also learned a few songs in Russian. She was very happy and very comfortable with herself and others. I highly recommend Lana's to anyone and everyone interested...
