New Age Market — Attraction in New York

I have been shopping here for long time. But recently , the guy from their seafood Dept just disappointed me so much. He is a guy with losing hair but pony tail with a cap hat. Be aware of this guy, people.

They have their seafood promotion almost every week. And last week, when I was there for their Dungeness crab which was $9.99 per lb. This nasty guy picked me a crab with only one claw. I asked why , and his response is "all $9.99 promotion is all sigle claw. If you want it with two claws, you can get those with $16.99."

And this week , I asked if they are having $5.99 per lb for LIVE lobster, so the same guy told me yes and asked me how many I want. I told him get me 2 please, then minutes later, he brought me one super huge, one super small. I am fine with that, but, a big BUT, both of them are NOT even moving. I asked him why is that , and this nasty guy have the similar response to me like last week's, all $5.99 lobsters are all like this.

I am like , man, don't use this kind of trick to scam on your customers. There are plenty of them which are very fresh but they just want to sell you those almost dead or dying first. why bother to promote your products when your are scamming people and losing your reputation like that??

I ended up when to GREAT WALL supermarket for the same deal and much more fresher.....

For the people who viewing this, you can still go shop there , they do have some good deal but just be aware of the SEAFOOD GUY. He is skinny, with light and long black pony tail hair. This is his usual trick.

For the owner, we can always shop at other places with the same deal and some time even better deal than yours, you know the competition you have in the area.

The staff performs racial profiling. Management seems to be complicit in it (they were sitting in front of the cctv screens when I entered the store today, 10/18/25). The first incident took place a couple weeks ago. The staff didn't check anyone's bag and was sitting behind the plexiglass. After receiving my receipt, packing my bags, and pushing my purchased items to the exit, a staff member abruptly stepped out and asked for a receipt. He asked me if I paid. I prompted him to ask the cashier. I walked with him back to the cashier where she confirmed the items. He then said he needed his job after doing poorly with the job of surveiling for actual theft (not race).

The second incident was today (10/18/25). I figured maybe the guy was a one off. Nope. I walked in and picked up three items that I held in my hand. I had no bags. A staff member found me (specifically) and stood beside me for approximately two minutes. I noticed no one else had a personal shopping attendant. I stood on the line in front of the plexiglass cctv station to check out to see if further racial profiling would continue upon exiting the store. Luckily, a staff didn't abruptly stop me to check if I paid. They also seemed to utilized the cctv this time. They used it so well that they sent the staff to stand next to me for approximately two minutes, unprompted.

Considering the photos I've seen posted inside the market of those that have actually performed theft, I'm ever more confused about the automatic racial profiling. However,...

Waring shoppers!! I went this supermarket on saturday and I parked my car. My plan was go to nextdoor to pick my food and go to shopping this supermarket. It took lesser than 5min to pick up my food. I came back to my car to put my food and i saw tow track was hooking my car and I was so suprised and shooked. I tried to explain but they did not listen to me. They said why didn't you go to this shop first. They said if you pay $125 rightaway they will release my car otherwise, they are gonna bring my car to their shop and I can pick up my car on monday and charge me more. I was panic and my brain black out. I feel like two young big guys threathen me. They keep said that they are not accept credit card and there is ATM and bring money rightaway. They said landlord gave them authorization to tow car. If you want to call police do whatever you want to do it. They treated me as a criminal. I had no choice and I went to ATM and paid. I cried. I feel so horroble. I went to shop and told manager what happen in parking lot. Manager said that he can not do anything and go to landlord. I asked how can I contact and he said find it by yourself. This shop has horroble attitude and do not care their customer. I will not go to this shop never ever go again. I was furious and felt disgusted....
