I tend to eat somewhat late and I found that after the pandemic, a lot of places closed somewhat early (in my opinion). Even in an area like Queens, you would see the lights off at establishments around 10p and I do understand why. If the foot traffic is not there at a certain time then you would need to pivot and adjust your hours accordingly.
My friends have talked about a late night place (during the week) on Northern Blvd that served some good food but of course had drinks (because they always prefer to stay well hydrated). Pochas are super popular but you usually find them in Manhattan so it was cool to know there was a spot in Flushing.
I had never gone in actually until very recently as I usually dine at other establishments in the area earlier (because they close earlier) and a lot of my friends do not eat late like i do. So I have days where I eat at normal business hours. I passed the place quite a few times without knowing it then it was realization that this place that they had told me about
One night during a weekday I went to check it out finally and I really regret not getting there sooner. The vibes are pretty chill inside with the neon signs in strategic locations and the spacious seating area with the dark atmosphere. However, the loud music and tvs showing kpop will certainly maintain a fun atmosphere. Luckily it was not too busy on this particular visit. The menu is quite extensive in terms of options. There is no doubt a dish that would fulfill a late night craving or nurse a hangover.
Everyone has their own food preferences but I will outline some of the food that I had ordered on my own and with friends.
--French fries with seasoning - good for munching in between dishes and sharing
--Fried dumplings (pork) - always down for some friend dumplings Sausage and rice cake on skewer (sweet spicy sauce) - two per order. nice app
--Korean style egg roll - this is their version of an omelet. If it came with some meat like ham or spam it would have been better
--Tongkatsu - classic crunchy goodness but the sauce they use is a bit different from what would normally be put on fried pork cutlet.
--Bacon kimchi fried rice with cheese and egg ring - instead of getting white rice we opted for this dish to share. The combo even on paper sounds delicious. Always a must for me.
--Creamy lemon sauce fried shrimp - Someone had recommended this and the shrimps were a good size and super crunchy.
--Stir fried beef belly w bean sprouts - I would have normally not ordered this but someone at my table said it was good and now this might be something I would order each time I dine in,
One dish that seems to be elusive for me is the stir fried chicken w cheese. For some reason it is never available when I dine in late so I have to go in earlier and try it out.
Weekends and prime nights are super busy...as in everyone seat filled which is definitely not surprising. But I have never waited too long for a table and even if I had to i would certainly understand why.
Each time I have dined in there is usually a pretty girl at the front desk who greets and seats you. On busy days, there are usually two hostesses The employees for the most part are very friendly and helpful with ordering and each dish arrives at the table in a good amount of time. This is a spot where you can dine and drink (alcohol or soda) solo or bring your friends for a good time. For those that do not drink cola, they have seltzer water available the last time I...
Read moreJust ordered food from here on Uber Eats and the food was delicious. Probably the best late night delivery spot in Flushing in terms of the freshness, and quality of the food. Big thing was the kimchi was fresh and the macaroni salad was also. Most restaurants in Flushing don't realize how much it matters to have actual tasty side dishes. They're Uber Eats page doesn't have rice on it so I'd recommend calling and asking to have rice added to the order. The owner was also nice enough to include it for free.
Try the Roast Pork it comes with a delicious sauce to dip in & it just melts...
Read moreFor me: overall excellent experience and def. a great place for late night snacks and drinks. Never had a tip issue.
My 2cents. I've seen the staff here ask customers because they shorted on tip, and from what I've seen they ask courteously if there was an issue with the service and the reason for the low tip. I don't think it's rude for staff to ask why they are receiving a "below margin" tip when the staff provided the service. Service workers rely heavily on tip. If you don't like to tip don't receive services that require tipping....
