I don't normally write bad reviews but this one absolutely deserves it.
I purchased 2 $200 a piece July 4th tickets of the Infinity boat cruise, which includes dancing, food, drinks, and NYC fireworks. For a ticket that price you would expect the very best from start to finish. Everything that we received was comical at best.
We arrived at the Hornblower Pier 40 dock at 4:45., With a loading time between 5:30 and 6: 30. What we walked into was pure chaos of 1,000 or more people packed without any structure or direction of where to go. No lines, no signs of workers, no direction at all. People were shoving and pushing their way to the front of the line as if it was a concert. We stood on the side of the wall and waited in line but watched hundreds of people pass us and push their way to the front of the line, causing tension for the next 2 hours. This happened for roughly 2 hours before we even moved 5 ft. There was no sign of anybody that worked there and there was definitely not a single sign of which direction to even go, for the 4 boats that were lined up. This entire scene reminded me of a Black Friday sale of thousands of people trying to get their hands on the last 20 TVs. It was pure chaos. The lady in front of us mentioned that this happens all the time because she has taken this boat tour before.
Because of this unorganized event that could have just been fixed with a rope or a line telling people where to go, or perhaps even a sign to direct us of which boat to even get on, this caused our boat to leave at 7:30 instead of 6:30 resulting in us losing an hour of a very highly anticipated night out in town.
Once we were finally aboard after waiting over 2 hours in the hot sun and amongst thousands of other people losing their patients, we arrived on the infinity boat waiting for our departure. We then stood in line for another 25 minutes just to get a single drink from the bar from our $200 VIP tickets.
If you plan on going on this boat in the future don't get fooled by the photos that you see on the internet, these are just illusions. They present this boat to be the fanciest boat on the water but in fact it's all smoke and mirrors. There's no bright lights to illuminate the dance floor, you just dance in a grim basement without air conditioning like a banquet hall wedding.
I think the most disappointing part was how far away we were from viewing the fireworks. We could have easily gone up another few thousand feet with all the other boats but instead we stood in the back and watched the fireworks as if it were the back row of a movie theater. Comments were being made by the people on the top deck as we all shared concerns while the boat just stopped. A better view would have been just sitting on the free grass directly underneath them from Long Island City.
For a New York City company that does these boat tours every single day you would expect so much more, what an absolute disappointment to feel like you've been robbed of one of the biggest nights of the year. This company is so unbelievably unorganized and so poorly displayed because it's the only thing that we can think about that we can't stop...
Read moreDear Sir/Madam: I would like to let you know how my friends and I have enjoyed and have had a delightful sailing experience at a Brunch time, Sunday, November 30, 2014, sailing the Hudson River, taking beautiful photos, via your HYBRID cruise ship.
I have sailed in numbers of cruise ships along NY's Hudson River, and internationally, and never in my wildest dreams I will have an overwhelming and a wonderful cruise time of my life.
SCHEDULE: Right on Time!
DISHES: The array and variety of good brunch food (that for me is comparable to lunch/dinner), plus those excellent desserts that are seemingly baked/cooked for kings and queens were really gastronomically delicious! Your array of dishes, desserts, drinks, coffee, etc., satisfy any one's discriminating taste!
CREWS AND SERVICES: As brunch time was one getting his/her own food, still, service was rendered, AWESOME! Members of your crew, from that lady who welcomed us during the boarding time, to your numbers of servers, bar tenders, etc., rendered service with smiles, were polite, helpful, good-looking and pretty people! KUDOS to all of them -- specially to Ms. Stephanie Gonzales, Toby, ! As a Banker in a International Private Group, staff members from the Receptionist to the top echelon of a company, are the image of how good a company is. And all the members of your CREW/STAFF have given that image and impression of how excellent your company (Hornblower) and in particular your ship HYBRID is!
CLEANLINESS: Surroundings, bathrooms, and all areas, overall are super clean! CLEANLINESS is one rule of thumb that must impress your customers! MUSIC: My friends and I were surprised to see that your cruise ship has a live band and a DJ! whose selection of songs and dance music catered for all ages! We enjoyed dancing with their music. Your 3 band members are friendly, with smiles on their faces... your DJ has been very accommodating with our requests of songs and other announcements! Way to go, indeed!
Our time sailing with HYBRID was worth everything! ABSOLUTELY, I plan to sail again, and have already started to share my experience with my family members and friends who are all excited to have my kind of experience sailing the Hudson River with your cruise ships!...
Read moreThe City Cruises is an absolute amazing sightseeing cruise based attraction thatâs known for providing guests top quality service, a highly delicious meal, entertaining music and an incredible tour of New York City (NYC).
To celebrate our Happy Valentineâs of 2024, I brought and treated my wife and myself for the sightseeing tour and dinner on the New York Signature Dinner Cruise. We found our tour and dining experience to be outstanding!!!
We were graciously welcomed and wonderfully treated by the cruiseâs staff and we were quickly provided a riverside table, one in which provided awesome views of NYC. During our tour, my wife and I viewed and took pictures of NYCâs skyline and its prominent locations such as the Empire State Building, the One World Trade Center, the Brooklyn Bridge, and the Statue Of Liberty. The Statue Of Liberty was definitely the highlight of our trip, and our tour guide/DJ did a great job on pinpointing its location once we closely approached this iconic monument.
In addition to the great views, tour and service, my wife and I danced to very entertaining music ranging from Pop, Hip Hop and R&B and absolutely loved our delicious buffet style dinner. Our meal included oven roasted salmon, baked orecchiette pasta, birria style chicken and other tasty dishes. We very much enjoyed our meal and found every dish to be perfect!!!
