Sunday, enter at 5PM starving group of 3, we get sat immediately which is amazing. We order a bottle of champagne, over $100, order two appetizers… a cheese plate and an antipasto. The server tell us, you can have the drinks, but you need to wait 30 minutes before we put the food in, the kitchen is behind from brunch. We left better restaurants that had 30 minute waits because we were starving after a long day. I’m sorry, there are two cold appetizers, a cheese place and throw some peppers and olives on a plate. We inform the server that if the food cannot come out right away, please don’t bring the bottle of champagne. The server assured us that yes, the food order has been placed and she brought of the warm bottle of champagne. Well, we fell for it, the two appetizers didn’t arrive at the table until 5:32PM, so we did in fact have to wait till 5:30. The cheese plate was an absolute disgrace, it was three 1 inch by 2 inch cubes of cheese that had to be shared between three people. One of the dare I say chunks of cheese couldn’t even be cut with a knife because it was basically the rind of the cheese, so we never got to taste it. We all ordered the same entree, the linguine and clam sauce. As an Italian American New Yorker, two of us at the table in fact, I was disgusted. We all were and after two bites each, we left the inedible ramen noodles/ cup of soup on the table and asked for the check. I wouldn’t mind, but I commented on how well the scrubbed the clams clean. Complete disappointment, no flavor, no texture, I swear you get a better instant ramen noodles from the local grocer for 30 cents a package as opposed to this $30 entree. I’ve been going to this restaurant for years!!!! Food, drinks, great vibe…Never had an issue, granted never ordered pasta, but today was a sham. Perhaps, they thought because the city was packed with tourists, that they could get away with subpar service and performance, so don’t know. I’ll never go back, nor will my two guests. The manager to be fair, took care of the three pasta dishes, but still...

I go to restaurants in the city very frequently. I eat out about 5 times a week even. I never complain even when the service isn’t great or leave bad reviews but I have never in my life had such a horrible experience with the service than at this restaurant. Our waitress would blatantly ignore us and not make eye contact with the table. I had to ask 4 different times just for her to finally refill my water once. And she didn’t even fill it, another waiter finally noticed and came over to fill it. I also had to wave her down asking her again three times saying “excuse me” and she most definitely heard me since she was less than 2 ft from me and still nothing. Only when I stood up from the table yelling HEY did she finally look over. This was because the food took over an hour and still they got my boyfriends and moms meals completely wrong. After they fixed my moms meal, which a different waiter did again, the order of toast was still missing with my boyfriend’s eggs. 30 minutes later she still didn’t bring the toast or come over once apologizing or to ask if we needed anything. When I went up and got the manager he said there is nothing they can do and didn’t even offer to comp the meal. All they took off my tab was the toast they never brought and the fries we didn’t order. Our meal was still $85 without even ordering any drinks there for 3 entrees. I am truly disappointed in this restaurant and can promise I will never be going back. Our waitress should be immediately fired for how rude and disrespectful she was and for how the situation was handled when she knew our table was having issues. The only time she ever came over to us was when she took our food order. Everything else was brought to our by other people who had to notice because we have been sitting...

I have lived in New York for 4 years, I dine out often. I can say with absolute certainty that this was the worst service experience I have ever had in my life. It wasn't just a lack of attention. Our server was blatantly rude the entire time we were at the restaurant. She quite literally took our order and would not even look us in the eyes for the rest of our meal. Almost all of our orders had something wrong and we attempted to get her attention as she walked by, no joke, probably 13 times. My sister finally had to get up from the table at one point to go and ask her for water after asking her as she passed by THREE times, and there was no attempt at apology—just a dirty look. My sisters boyfriend ordered eggs and a side of fries and toast, and she brought eggs and two sides of fries. By the time we finally got the toast (from another server after trying to get her attention for about 30 minutes) his eggs were cold. We watched another couple ask for their meal to go, and our server literally took their plates and dumped them upside down in to-go boxes. When my sister finally went to the manager, he said "there was nothing he could do because he didn't have approval to comp our meal since the owner wasn't there", and he proceeded to take off the fries we didn't order and the toast. That's it. We had no cocktails and still walked out paying $85 for literally the most terrible dining experience of our lives. We would be happy to pay a premium for great food and great service but this was such a disgusting experience I'm really disappointed that the manager couldn't make right or at least offer us a gift card to come back and have a better experience. Not ok. DO...

We have been regulars for about 3 years now and Hudson Clearwater is our favorite brunch spot, hands down. It has all the qualities one looks for in a dining experience. Great service, great food & drinks, in a great atmosphere. We have loved the experience from day one! Our consistent satisfaction with everything has made it our favorite. If you’re looking for a regular brunch spot—you will not be disappointed! We experience all the perks from being regulars. The servers always stop by for a quick hello even if they’re not the ones waiting your table… we even had the owner stop by our table to say thank you for our repeated business (he may have noticed our many visits from the reservation system). It’s so nice to be remembered and what a way to feel welcome!! One of the servers knows that I always order the crusted french toast for “dessert” and she also knows how I like it— piping hot and with an extra maple syrup—so even when she is not the server for our table… she hand-delivers my french toast ensuring thst it is piping hot and with all the accoutrements. Above and beyond!! This makes my day! Our personal faves: artichoke hearts, fries, hudson scramble, herbed french omelette, cornflake crusted french toast, cinnamon bun, or key lime pie. The all natural interior with the sunlight peeking in through the big bright windows— and the outside garden area available for dining—give it a nice warm country feel. It has character and charm. We hope this gem is around for our brunch dates for many more years to come!

Where do I begin? I was so disappointed with my last visit, after I had been so pleasantly surprised with a lunch here several years ago. The hostess sat us at a table on the sidewalk that was on a slight slope downward and using a metal bench for some of the seating. When we asked nicely if any other table was available, the hostess immediately caught an attitude and responded that she actually loves that table...as if *she* were going to pay for our food that day? She appeared to be trying to find us another table but was visibly frustrated with the whole situation, never speaking or updating us. Finally, we were brought to a nicer table on the side of the restaurant, where we waited for a menu for about 15 minutes (only after our new waiter came up to us trying to take our order). I ordered possibly the worst Bloody Mary I've ever consumed. We had to constantly ask for more water because no one was checking to see that our glasses had been empty for a while. And then the duck hash (pictured), which had a wonderful presentation and sounded scrumptious, was so overly salted that it was barely edible. I didn't have the heart to send it back - I wonder what the hostess would have thought of us. smh. This place has such promise, but it sorely needs new management. Until then, skip it. There are *so* many nice brunch places in NYC...
