If this wasn't the only karaoke place open, I would have never gone here. It was for a birthday actually.
For starters, everything is in korean. I was lucky that we had someone in my group who can read in korean because the remote they give is entirely in that language.
When I called in for assistance for remote the staff just kept asking me what I want to order.
This place is not "fair", "good", or "reasonable" when compared to other karaoke joints in the neighborhood. For 7 people without alcoholic beverages, it was priced $104 total for only 1 ½ hours of singing- meaning this place does a per-person hourly rate instead of the normal ROOM hourly rate. Karaoke places are overpriced, but this place takes the cake.
Walking inside the place is cool, but that's about it. If you're the type that cares about room decor/styles, you'll find the rooms to be bland. Very normal/neutral couches and colors in the room, however rooms do come with a lighting system that automatically does disco and strobe light functions- no idea if you can control it though since staff just never wanted to explain anything 😊. To their credit, rooms are in fact clean, but being clean should be the norm- ESPECIALLY during this pandemic.
Song list is normal. Should have everything you want to sing. Although other karaoke places have more anime songs.
Whole party couldn't drink any alcohol because one person was a week away from turning 21. This is understandable, however I couldn't even order something like a beer for myself.
Drink list is small. It does have the basic options though.
Conclusion: This place is not worth the money you pay. Even if you're the type who doesn't really care about money, but the experience of karaoke, I still feel you can get a much better experience somewhere else- especially if you're willing to pay the same price they charge here. At best it's an average karaoke place in quality, but its like if a mid-tier boba joint charges you $8+ for a regular size. And I'm sure if you're out celebrating with some close friends, you wouldn't want everyone to have an "average" experience. Especially if it was a 21st birthday.
Too lazy didn't read: Overpriced- $104 for 7 people without alcoholic drinks, only 1 ½ hours of singing. Bland/Normal rooms. Everything is in korean; good luck getting help with that. Normal song list- small drinks list. Just go...
Read moreThis has become my go-to karaoke place. I’m usually a nomad when it comes to karaoke places, and explore around the k-town area. However, since I’ve discovered this place I’m not sure if I can go to another place.
It’s located in Muray Hill so a little further from flushing, but accessible by bus and the LIRR. I do drive here and parking is fairly easy to find.
The price for this place is very good. They’re also very accommodating and provide great service. I’ve received some sort of discount every time I get there, like a free hour or free snacks. The rooms are also very spacious, and the systems are very easy to control.
The song selections are also very good and are usually up to date with the latest songs. They have English, Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, and Chinese. But the bonus for me is that they also have rooms that have access to YouTube so you can YouTube your own songs for karaoke! I’m not sure if that’s available with other places but I give it extra points because of it.
So, if it’s your birthday, a friends/family birthday, a causal night out, or a casual day out and want to sing till your lungs burst at a nice and affordable place, this is your place to go.
Oh, it’s in a semi suburban location which I also like cause I like it when it’s not loud or crowded, maybe because...
