The level of unprofessionalism at this shop is nothing like anything I have never experienced before. Not only is it poorly managed, but if you are a young woman they will treat you with little to no urgency. I went to this location because they take my warranty and my engine light came on right when my state inspection was due. I needed diagnostics to see what the error code causing the light was. I went on a Wednesday at 6 pm and there was no technician available. They operate on a first come first serve basis so I returned on Friday morning at 10 am per their suggestion. I was informed on Friday morning that to run the scan they would need my car for the entire day - I really still can not comprehend why it would take that long especially when I came in at the time that they told me to. I left my car and followed along with the online portal they provide to check on the status. The portal, and technician, shared a turn around time of 6 pm. I never heard back from them on Friday and called back the following morning. The person that answered the phone was extremely rude to me, he kept asking me who my technician was and transferred me to someone else who then asked me the same exact thing. I shared that no one was ever assigned to my car in the online portal and the person that I handed my keys to had not introduced himself. They asked for the make and model of my car and said they would get back to me in an hour. They never called me back, so I reached out to them during my lunch break. This is when they shared that they did not have any technician to run the scan and that they would not get it done until Monday. I asked them why they did not share this with me when I brought my car in over a day ago and there was no clear answer. At this point I could tell that they had forgotten about my car. It was cutting extremely close to my state inspection due date, so I decided to wait until Monday. On Monday, they updated me that the car scanner had prompted two errors and that they needed to get their specialist to read it because they did not understand what it meant. Direct quote they said, “I can’t for the life of me understand what this means.” I was told the specialist would be available in a few hours. I asked for the codes and they said they didn’t remember and would have to rerun the scan. It took them another 3 hours to get back to me with those results. On that call, they shared that their specialist was not available until Thursday - a week from when I brought my car in. I told them this timeline did not work for me and that I would be coming to pick my car up the next day to bring it somewhere else. I specified that I was at work until after they closed and apologized for taking up a spot in their lot. They proceeded to call me 5 times and left two voicemails from different employees saying they had an update about my car. They went from ignoring me to blowing up my phone while I was at work. Their diagnostic scan aka a test that takes 2 minutes that they did not even know how to read was going to cost me over $100- I didn’t end up paying for that since they could not share what was wrong. When I went to pick up my car they gave me the keys and didn’t say anything to me. They also left my car under a tree the entire time so it was covered in leaves and seeds. I went to a local mechanic that was not only friendly, but very competent. He did the car scan the second I pulled up and recognized the codes right away and resolved the issue in the same day. If you are interested in immediate service, decent customer service, and transparency about your car do not go to a chain shop like Pep Boys. I had my brakes done at this Pep Boys location a little while ago and the mechanic even said they did them too tight. If you want to be treated with any type of decency or respect for your time, do yourself a favor and...
Read moreWestchester Square E. Tremont. Bronx. You really don't want to know. Manny, Moe and Jack will turn over in their grave. Warning to the public. Do not go to this establishment. The management and staff are a horrible reflection of today's society. They tried to scam me out of hundreds of dollars but failed. The owners of this location need to do a undercover boss assessment or a state / federal joint commission visit is needed. On Friday, October 24th, 2025. I went to just get a rear passenger side tire pressure sensor replacement. I walked up to the counter and said good morning Sir, I believe his name is Richard who just looked at me in a catatonic state and did not respond to my greeting. So, I repeated my greeting, again he again just looked at me. No response.? I then stated the reason for my visit which I explained was simply to replace a rear passenger side tire pressure sensor. After, stating the purpose of my visit and without even seeing my car the first the thing Richard said was that all four of my tire pressure sensors needed replacement! Period. I asked him how that could be if you haven't even looked at the car yet to which he replied that after a certain milage all tire pressure sensors needed to be replaced. I informed Richard, that I had my front passenger side tire pressure sensor changed by them in June 25. and that I was not informed that I would need all of the sensors replaced at that time. He said he doesn't know anything about that. So, I told him just to repair the faulty one. I gave him my keys and information. I waited and after a while. I started receiving emails saying a mechanic has yet to be assigned yet at the same time i was getting texted that i needed front break pads, front rotors rear roters and break pads Air filters, both engine and cabin?. So, i after a while and more conflicted massages I asked for and got the manager and he took me to the bay area where we searched for my car and found that the mechanic took my car apart, left it jacked up on a lift for over an hour waiting for clarification of a cabin air filter replacement. The manager told the mechanic to put my car back together and fix the faulty tire pressure sensor only. This took almost another hour. I asked the mechanic how he determined I needed new front break pads and rotors when I had my front break pads replaced at the dealership 5 months ago? to which he had no lucid explanation. Something about they use a lazor to measure the break pads. I asked rhe mechanic if he replaced the faulty tire pressure sensor and he said he did he also said the tire pressure sensor indicator light will turn off after i drive it around a little. I then left and after driving 10 miles the indicator light did not clear. I called Pep boys back and was told to return the next day if it does not clear overnight. I drove to Yonkers and back. Simply put they did not program the tire pressure sensor. So I had to return last Saturday, October 25th. 2025. the so called Pep Boys professional who was assigned to open the store got there 30 minutes late talking about he had an emergency. This staff tried to scam me out of 4 tire pressure sensors new rotors and brake pads. Be very weary of this location. I gave a real bad survey. Note. I was the first in line Saturday morning and after all was said and done they begrudgingly gave me my Veterans discount acting like after 17 years of service I didn't earn it. Thank you Pep Boys for your service to us. My break pads front and back are safe. 90%. My rotors are excellent. They are supposed to reach out to me about my experience at this location. We'll see if they honor they're guarantee of excellence in...
Read moreI went in for an oil change Wednesday July 27, patient, nice, not in a rush, everything was fine until it was time to pay. I beforehand mentioned to the cashier I had a 30% off coupon I planned on using. She mentioned to say it when paying later, so I did. The oil change came up to $92 for synthetic oil, minus 30% off coupon, $64.40. I also was going to buy the windshield wiper liquid and some wipes to clean the car. So when she goes to charge me I see it comes up to $77 and change and I ask her if she's charging me for the items too and she said no I pay those separate so I ask her how it came up to that amount after she supposedly scanned the coupon! She goes oh let's just use this register... I tell her it already showed pending and she said I didn't finish the transaction so it won't go through but call us if anything... then goes ahead to do it again and it's still not adding up and she goes let's use one of my coupons and it still doesn't come up. She said if it shows up on your bank account posted call us to refund you. So OF COURSE it posted! I call, explained to whoever picked up the situation she put me on hold without asking me any info at all. 15 minutes later someone else comes on the line asking who I wanted to speak to because she saw the call on hold and didn't know what I was waiting for. So I go ahead and explain myself again. She checks and says the person who originally helped me comes in at 11 and she would ask her what happened and call me back at 11:15am. Fast forward to 2:30pm I call back today Friday July 29 and the person who picks up says VERY RUDELY: "oh there was only one other person here and she's gone for the day, you can come back tomorrow to see what they can do, I don't know what's going on with that and I have two people on hold waiting and puts me on hold". Literally and quoted! After waiting 10 minutes on hold I hang up and call my bank and dispute the charges. This location has LITERAL THIEVES working there! The guy who fixed my car was great! He explained everything, the same one who charged me twice and still not the proper amount didn't tell me anything he did. I had to ask him when I went around to get my car. He asked oh she didn't tell you, I said no she didn't say a word about what was done. Absolutely horrible! I will def never be coming to this location and will think twice about any other location because of this experience and I will ABSOLUTELY spread the word to family, friends, social media....
