Estrellita Poblana 4 — Restaurant in New York

Wow i had the misfortune of eating there.I used to go to this restaurant and order Great Sangria Mixed Drinks The food used to be great The Shrimp burritos used to be filled with fresh Whole shrimp great sauces fresh rice beans Last night got there at 855 pm sat down in a chipped chair and chipped table was seen finally by a waitress at 900 pm So i wanted to order from happy hour 3.00 beer but because i was standing around waiting for a server as i told the waitress i was waiting to be seated and for a waitress to take my order I missed happy hour So the beers are now 8.00 so i asked my waitress if i could get one at the happy hour price she went to ask someone in the back and stated NO.I always thought a good motto is the customer is always right so i asked for water so the waitress came to the table dropped off water chips in the baskets and a tiny saucer of red sauce That was the only water we received the waitress never came up to us to ask us if we needed anything Just dropped off a 4 holder with like sauces uncovered and some pickled vegetables The burrito came the shrimp was chopped up in tiny pieces so they were hard and dry the rice and beans tasted old like stale My wife had a 26.95 Steak thin more fat then steak very thin with two enchiladas very chewy no flavor So there is a sign in the restaurant there is a 2.99 % for using debt or credit cards on the bottom it states USE CASH !!! so i don't carry cash and got charged $2.02 extra with paying with debt card i would have given 0 stars but they will not let us.So when we left i wanted to purchase desserts and coffee but it seemed like the waitresses were to busy with a party in the back room to check on all there...

Im not sure if the owners changed but lately service has been absolutely horrible. I’ve had to replace my oven in a new apartment so for the last few months I’ve been ordering out and maybe 3x + a week I eat at estrelitas with a group of friends, I pick it up or order for delivery. I always order the same things and everytime the prices are different.. next they started charging for every little thing like ONE more fajita wrap to have 6 instead of 5, if we order salsa and guacomole, they charge for extra chips and expect 5 people to share 1 basket of chips with 2 dips. There food is AMAZING and they are known for their amazing home made sour cream, which is supposed to come with every order of fajitas. Today I picked up an order and they sent me home with packets of fake tasteless sour cream instead of the real sides of sour cream they usually have. And instead of the fajitas coming with 5 wraps as usual, they gave me 4 and put less meat than normal, just loaded with onions.. I have been eating here for over 10 years and I ONLY come back because the food is so good but I know so many people from the area who aren’t happy with their service lately. There was a cockroach crawling on the table soon after we got our meal. I ordered the shrimp fajita that I usually get at this place. Unfortunately, this time somehow all the peppers, onions, and shrimp tasted bland. The dish was tasteless. The roach was crawling on one of the wooden dishes they used to bring in our hot food. We had only been eating for about 10 minutes. We brushed it onto the floor and squashed it but were so creeped out we asked to take our meal to go.

The customer service response was also pretty bad. A staff member, I'm assuming the manager at the time, came over and said that the roaches come from outside because we sat by the door (that no one comes in through). She then said that she saw another roach the other day. To top it off, there wasn't any attempt to make up for the bad experience: we were charged full price for our meals and appetizer, not even given a free slice of cake.

What worries me the most is how the staff seemed to brush it off as if it's a common experience that they weren't taking steps to fix. I don't know where the roach came from, but it's their responsibility to make sure they don't come into the restaurant, being unsanitary and ruining the experience of...
