I was prepared to wait, but didn't think it would take 5 hours.
Left at 8 AM because Google hours say the store opens at 9 AM, it does not, it's 10 AM.
I arrived at 9 AM. A staff arrived at 9:45 AM or so, he was nice enough to tell us that the manager was running late, said they'll open 10-15 minutes late.
At 10:30 AM, when we asked again, that staff was responsive and called the manager who said his bus broke down...sure...ok...my dog ate my hw...
Another staff arrived, she was not as nice and said, we're in the same boat as you guys, waiting.
By 11 AM, some people left.
A little while later a WTC employee made us disperse because the line was getting too long. I was first...it was just for a pick-up. We were told to "walk around in a circle..." That did nothing, now you had a ton of ppl looking shady as hell, like we're scoping out the layout of WTC, circling that one walkway.
Rest of the staff arrived, 5 in total, they're all standing there too. Asked about the ETA and one of them said, they just don't know when the other manager will arrive. Asked if the pick-up could be transferred to another day as it is absolutely not my fault that the first manager is such a flake and cannot open the store. They said they can't change the date in the system. Understandable, nothing that they can do. I'm waiting, they're waiting. Customers are fed up and staff are likely feeling the same but can't say anything. There were eye rolls though, which was kind of funny.
Finally, 3.5 hours standing around, they opened. The WTC employee was a tool shed who thought he was all mighty and powerful...threatening to not let the store open if the line was not to his liking. Note, we were all pretty civil. No pushing, arguing, running, we acted like adults.
Into the store, thought I could see the light but my pick-up was at the off-site warehouse...
Stood in the store for another half an hour waiting for them to get it...
Tried to remain as positive as I could but this is hour 4 for me, haven't eaten yet, stood for that amount of time, it's raining out, coat, umbrella in hand, tired as all hell...couldn't even crack a smile after I received my Labubu.
In total, traveling from NJ to NY, waiting, and back, it took 5 hours. Might as well pay resellers at this point.
Avoid this store...

I would like bring to your attention that the employees Popmart Store at World Trade Center are hurting your company’s reputation and wasting your company’s money. Please be aware that this store HAS A RECURRING ISSUES of CLOSES DURING BUSINESS HOURS based on how the employee feels.
You can reference to the google review attached, the employees have the past history of closing store during the store hours and there’s nowhere customers can know ahead of time as they only post the notice on the door but not on the internet. The customers will be notify upon their arrival to the physical store location to realize they wasted their time.
This is hurtful for the business, especially it’s a store opened at Manhattan, World Trade Center ( in the financial district, a crucial part of the New York) leaving the impression that Popmart can do whatever the employees in the store want. In fact, if you checked the google review of the locations, you will see many 1-star review. If it does receive compliments, they are all because of the merchandise but none for the employees. I believe this is not the impression that Popmart want to give on people while you invested so much money to open the store in such popular area.
In addition to this, out of curiosity, does the company still pays your employees although they are not present at their work location for multiple times and for...
