Beware of this gym. After being a member for three years I finally canceled my membership. I signed up for a more professional gym that is $200 more but this gym was so bad it pushed me to do so. Let's go down the list of things that are wrong with this gym. And how the only thing that's worth it is the location. 1. there are two squats racks you will spend most of your work out waiting for the squat rack. 2. Lots of young unprofessional kids screaming and lifting weights they can't even manage. 3. Smells terrible they should have someone to spray air fresheners. 4. Terrible costumer service rude and judgmental weird managers. 5. You will get there and majority of machines are broken and unaligned really outdated machines and equipment. 6. Only one of each machine so expect to wait 10-15 min in between each set to be able to use the other machines. 7. Sauna is not even hot and fits one person. 8. This is not luxury this is a $50 a month gym that is worst then planet fitness. This gym has potential due to its location. However they must do some serious investing in new machines and gym facilities safety. I will never forget the day I was in there and the ceiling fell through definitely a major safety hazard and made me feel unsafe every time I would work out under the ceiling. They got so lucky no one was under that when it happened . Save your money and go to the new planet fitness they opened by Applebees. This gym is $50 a month and is worst than $10 planet fitness. $50 a month and when you walk in and out of there don't expect to feel welcomed or even receive a greeting. They must retrain there whole staff in customer service. Since the machines are so bad staff service should be better to make up for the bad facilities.

I’ve been coming to Push Fitness in Fresh Meadows for nearly a month now, and I can confidently say it’s one of the best gyms I’ve experienced in New York. The location is convenient, the space is huge and spotless, and the gym is fully equipped with a wide variety of weights and machines. The sauna works perfectly, and the overall atmosphere is energetic and welcoming. A special shoutout to Richard and Nancy—I truly appreciate the daily warm welcome from both of them. Nancy also makes incredible shakes, smoothies, and overnight oats that hit the spot post-workout. Frankly, I’m surprised by some of the negative comments I’ve seen, because I haven’t experienced anything like that at this location. Push Fitness Fresh Meadows is a well-rounded gym with a great vibe, caring staff, and everything you need to get in a great workout.

I was finally able to cancel my membership over a year only by going in when I did not feel comfortable doing so. They are a bit of a scam because the contract keeps running even after the time frame stated in your contract. Plus the membership went up without warnings. And yessss, I do check my spam/junk folders and I don’t receive any newsletter from Push. On another note the açaí bowls were not what I expected. Very water, feel like they mixed in apple juice into the purée but it separates and you end up eating juice with frozen strawberries and banana slices dunked in. Please think twice about joining this gym and make sure communication is clear.

Although I wanted to rate Push 5 stars, I can't.

I've been a member since May of 2012 and overall have had a generally good experience here. The gym has more than enough weights available, a large variety of machines and equipment, members rerack their weights 95% of the time, members are respectful, and it is clean. That's more than you can ask for considering other gyms are usually lacking one of those.

Let me emphasize that the reracking of weights in this gym is phenomenal. Push, keep it up and continue enforcing reracking. I rarely come across a barbell or machine with weight still added. I can say that I joined Push as a complete noob, but the gym has ingrained proper gym etiquette in me.

It is a bit on the fancier side, which I don't necessarily care for. This may be a plus for some people. I'm assuming it's due to the fact that the gym is marketing to a specific crowd. Definitely a bit overpriced in my opinion. However, I do think that it is a pleasant environment to train in and have no complaints there.

I enjoy their juice bar as well. I very, very rarely buy shakes from them, as they are too expensive in my opinion. But they do make a wide array of kickass shakes.

The gym only having two squat racks gets to me though. Most of the time, it's not a problem. But if you go during the gym's busiest hours (5pm-8pm), forget about it. You may be waiting for 30 minutes. Considering it's the only place where you can deadlift in the gym, two is certainly not enough. I know that I'm not the only one who has complained about this, so the Push staff should listen to their members. Instead of adding more machines, I believe that another squat rack would be a great and worthwile addition.

Also, the "no supersetting" rule is ridiculous. Although I've never been bothered while supersetting, I don't see the reason why supersetting is a problem as long as you are mindful and considerate. Meaning, use good judgement and/or let people work in with you. I personally don't agree with the rule altogether, as supersetting is a staple of effective weight training. Therefore, you can be inhibiting one's training and progress by not allowing it. The line separating Push from a gym like Planet Fitness certainly got thinner.

There is one negative experience that I've had in this gym that sticks out to me. It was when I went to the front counter for maybe the 5th time over the course of the month to ask when the broken dip belt would be replaced. I was either completely brushed off or the staff didn't really acknowledge me, simply gaving me an "Oh, I don't know. Sorry" If I were to work here, I would ensure that every member's complaints and thoughts were made known and tended to. That should be a must whenever you provide customer service.

Ultimately, the gym is what you make of it. Can you reach your fitness goals here? Certainly. There's no reason why you couldn't. For the average person who is serious about trying to become a fitter and stronger version of yourself, I highly recommend this gym. It is far from a hardcore, strength training gym with prowlers, atlas rocks, chains, and such equipment. It is also far from a Crossfit-esque gym as well. I am satisfied with Push and will continue to be a member until 1)I move or 2)A gym emphasizing strength training and bodybuilding like the first one I mentioned above opens up in the area. All in all, I've had no trouble making amazing progress while training at Push Fitness. You shouldn't either given you are training and...

I had what was truly a bizarre experience going into this gym today with the intention of possibly becoming a member and after reading other reviews here afterwards I wanted to share it. I had seen the fairly low rating this gym has here on Google, but it is the gym that is most conveniently located to me now other than one I would never consider entering and it’s only a few doors away from an establishment I already frequent so I figured why not go in and check it out. I didn’t fully enter the gym, but from what I could see it looked clean and inviting and I was feeling positive about it at first, like maybe this was actually meant to be my next gym. I then had an interaction with someone who seemed to be the manager. I didn’t get his name, but from reading other reviews I’m fairly confident it was Rick because my experience with him very much tracked how others have described him and his unprofessional attitude. I told him I was looking to join a gym and he said great—the interaction started out positive. However, when I inquired about pricing/packaging and asked if there was any sort of trial period—perhaps a week free trial like the last gym I belonged to in my old neighborhood had offered me before I signed up—he acted like this was a ridiculous thing to ask. He insisted “no gym offers that.” He told me what the monthly price was and then clarified when I asked that you have to commit for a year, there’s no month-to-month option. Signing up for a YEAR is a big commitment without even having the opportunity to try out the place first, so I asked, just to be clear I wasn’t missing something: “So it’s either you sign up for a year or nothing, no in between?” His response to that was what was truly bizarre for someone supposedly interested in obtaining my business, the more I think about it. He got defensive and said in a condescending tone, “No, it’s not ‘or nothing,’ you have alternatives. There are other gyms you can go to.” Such a truly flabbergasting comment, I didn’t know how to react to it in the moment. He eventually said that if I bring in a local ID, I can come in for free one time—which would’ve been perfectly acceptable to me if that’s what he had said right away when I first asked if there was a trial option. He could’ve said, “We don’t offer a full week trial, but you’re welcome to one free class/workout session.” That would’ve been fine. And I now see on the gym’s website that they PROMINENTLY ADVERTISE a free guest pass. So he could’ve just told me about that right away!! But what he did first was get an attitude and basically tell me to bring my business elsewhere. Even after that interaction I was still interested in coming in for free once and possibly joining because I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt that that was just a weird one-off interaction and that it wouldn’t be typical if I were to join. But then I came here and read so many reviews describing a similar attitude from him that it seems wise not to go back. I will take his suggestion and find another...
