I recently had the opportunity to visit the Richmond Hill Public Library for the first time, and I wanted to share my thoughts and observations.
First and foremost, I was impressed with the overall cleanliness and ambiance of the library. It is undoubtedly a well-maintained and welcoming space that fosters a positive environment for reading and studying.
However, I would like to bring to your attention a concern I encountered during my visit – the noise level. While I understand that the children's area may naturally be a bit lively, I found the noise from the elderly patrons and staff at the front to be quite disruptive. It felt as if I was in a public space, such as a mall or fish market, rather than a library.
I believe that maintaining a quiet and peaceful atmosphere is crucial for the library's patrons, especially those who visit seeking a tranquil space for reading and studying. I kindly suggest addressing the noise concerns in a respectful manner, perhaps by reminding patrons and staff about the importance of maintaining a library-appropriate noise level.
I appreciate the efforts of the library staff in creating a positive environment, and I hope that this feedback will contribute to further enhancing the overall experience for all visitors.
Thank you for your attention to this matter, and I look forward to future visits to the Richmond Hill Public...
Read moreI disagree with people who says staff are rude. The staff here are very awesome people, very helpful with lots of patience and tolerance. These negative reviewers/entitled people won't last a day much less a few hours were they to work at the library. Couple months back, I inadvertently left my wallet with cash, credit, debit cards, driver license and medical cards. Staff Mr Michael found and had it safely secured. Several hours later I returned to the library and got my wallet back. Told him I didn't care if the cash was mising. But nothing was missing. This is what supports excellent qualities of the staff of Richmond Hill Library. Many times I observed staff patiently guiding people who practically can't figure out simple things. So ENTITLERS, please take a step back and reflect. If someone spoil your mood, please don't take it out on these awesome library staff. How many of you have ever lost a wallet or pocket book/purse with VALUABLES personal cards/information and got it back? I did, God bless the staff at Richmond...
Read morevery discriminatory - went here to use the printer to print out a simple application and the librarian at the front desk was very rude Told me I needed to get a library card to use the computer for 30 mins. I assured him I'd just be using it for no more than 2 minutes. Just wanted to print one piece of a paper and he told me I needed a library card regardless. It was never like this, you don't need a library card to use the computer, you could use the computers for 15 minutes without a card. The guy and other workers in there were just discriminating against me because I'm young and that's sad. I've been going here (for the last 15 years) since I was a kid and the staff and library has changed and not for the better but for the worse. Will not be going here again until they hire more professional workers who know how to do their jobs and not judge you because of your age or what...
