C Bar & Lounge — Restaurant in New York

This is a local favorite for me, I have been going for years and Charlie the owner is absolutely amazing. He greets each customer at the door and makes you feel welcomed. Saturday however the visit was below expectations. Our waitress lied about ending her shift and leaving and wanted us to close our tab. I asked her who was taking over because we were drinking, had a table and hookah and didn’t want to keep swiping my card. Long story short, she never left and swiped my card about 4 other times that night even though I asked to put me unto another waitress to keep my tab open. I would go back however after the owner makes you feel welcomed and caters to your every need, creating a safe space for everyone. She made us feel like we were going to leave without paying. Used to come here a lot. But never again. Charlie (owner), you should be aware that your star waitress (short Guyanese lady) is over charging customers that she think are too drunk to notice. Happened a few times already, one too many for my liking. Friday 7/19, we ordered a bucket of Heineken and one gin n tonic, she brought over a bill for $64, then magically came back with a receipt of $81 after swiping my card. When confronted her about it, she said it’s because of taxes. A bucket is $27 and gin tonic is $14. Make her math make sense. Please let her go before you lose all your customers. I’ve been coming to this bar over the past year and I must say it’s my go to place. The weekdays offer a very intimate vibe which I find perfect for date nights. The weekends give an amazing nightlife experience with great music and entertainment. The food is great, authentic and the portions are enough to share. Charlie, the owner greets every single patron that enters which I’ve never seen at other establishments. You’ll spot him handing out shots through out the night .
