Living in Murray Hill, the northern end of this park served as our entryway for frequent bike trips around Manhattan, serving as a north/south route along the East River. Once you get into Stuy Town area, the paths open up to beautiful fields and plenty of activities on warmer days.
As others note, Stuyvesant Cove Park's nice landscaping helps further the separation and tranquility from the FDR and the rest of the city. If you're on foot, there are some really nice meandering paths, but cyclists are limited to the straight and wide path along the water's edge.
