In my professional career I worked as the controller for a restaurant and event location. As part of my job, I had to attend some of the events. I observed everything during the entire event so as to provide feedback to the owner and the event sponsors. What I saw on display on NYE at the Cheers to Life 2018 event by the owner of the Starz Princess was malicious, despicable and obviously predetermined. I have NEVER witnessed this type of unprofessional behavior in my career. So, if anyone is considering this venue for any event think long and hard if you would like to deal with this type of venue owner and disaster. There should be negative stars for the Star Princess. To provide some details and facts to support my rating:
This place is the worst hall to rent for your event, my cousin recently had her sweet 16 here this past weekend and they didn’t have any heat on, the hall was cold and many people were complaining. The hall owner had an attitude throughout the entire night, when we went to ask to turn on the heat, it’s the middle of November in New York so obviously it’s cold, we had to ask multiple times. The owner of the hall was outside during our event getting drunk and could barely walk by the end of the night in which he then proceeded to take away a drink from another guests hand stating that he was under age when he was well over 21, he then pushed this guest which almost resulted in a altercation. Doesn’t seem very professional to me! The workers there tried to control everything against our plans on how to layout our food and then began to disrespect the main people that were supposed to take care of the food. They then proceeded to take trays of our food away and stole it from us. When we confronted them they said that we didn’t have enough food or drinks to cover for our guests. We also kept extra bottles of liquor in a vehicle outside and would refill the bar as needed, at the end of the night when we went to take back the unfinished bottles of liquor that was rightfully ours there were several bottles missing and everyone acted clueless and acted like they didn’t know what anyone was talking about. The employees were all rude and taking plates and cups off the table when people weren’t even done eating or drinking. Once the party started the m/c and djs had to make an announcement for everyone to bring their purses and valuables to the front of the hall because they had reports of people walking into the hall and stealing items from guests, I guess the owner is always to drunk to secure his building. Overall service from this venue was absolutely horrific, I wish it was possible to leave a 0 star review. This hall is a joke and they are all ignorant and rude. Read moreI had the pleasure of being able to work with Mr. Kenny in booking the smaller space (this venue has two spaces) for my baby shower of 75 people. My baby shower/birthday party came out SO BEAUTIFUL! I will actually be having my future events here. Kenny was super pleasant and accommodating and worked with our budget. I chose a package that included chairs and tables being decorated (table cloths and chair covers) and they made sure everything was set up for me when we arrived to set up for the party. My package included having a staff member to help with my party which was Mr. Delfino. He was SO HELPFUL, pleasant and efficient. He was working very hard for the 5 hours we had our event making sure everything was in order and making sure I didn’t need anything. He took care of cleaning up after our event was over and made the before, during, and after the party seamless. Some reviews say something about “watching your alcohol” because “the owner and the staff” steal it or whatever, that was absolutely not my experience at all. Both Kenny and Delfino were amazing to work with. Everyone was saying how nice the party was and how awesome Delfino was. The space was able to accommodate our guests, decoration set up and a band!
