A Very Disappointing Experience at Occasions Hall:
I recently held my 30th birthday and graduation party at Occasions Hall, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. While the party planners were initially very accessible and communicative, several significant issues arose on the day of the event that left me extremely disappointed.
Firstly, the planners provided me with specific instructions about where items like tablecloths and satin runners would be located. However, when I arrived, these items were not in the designated places, which caused unnecessary delays and confusion during setup.
The provided staff, including the security guard and bartender, were unhelpful and unprofessional. It took them an entire hour to open the ice chest during the event, which was a major inconvenience. Moreover, as I was setting up, I discovered multiple dead roaches on the floor. Cleaning them up revealed that the floors were pitch black with dirt, indicating a severe lack of cleanliness and maintenance.
The bartender's conduct was disappointing. She left the bar too often to go smoke cigarettes, leaving the bar unattended. The security guard also failed to perform his duties properly; instead of staying at the door, he wandered off, leading to three random people attempting to crash my party. I had to personally handle these intruders as the host, which was both stressful and unacceptable.
The safety and cleanliness of the venue were major concerns. The area surrounding the party hall felt unsafe, and the venue itself was not up to standard. I was promised sufficient toilet paper for my 60 guests, but only two rolls were provided. When my guests ran out of toilet paper, the staff blamed me, stating that I was supposed to supply it, despite assurances from the planner to the contrary.
Additionally, the chafing tables I rented were in terrible condition—dirty and burnt. The rings to hold the sternos were so wide from overuse and damage that no standard sterno could fit in them, further complicating the food setup.
To top it all off, the security guard decided to turn on all the lights and turn off the music with over 45 minutes left in my allotted party time. This abrupt ending to the event was extremely frustrating and uncalled for.
Overall, I was extremely unhappy with my experience at Occasions Hall. The numerous issues with cleanliness, staff professionalism, and safety were unacceptable. I strongly advise others to take their events elsewhere. This venue does not provide the quality or service that it promises.
