Went shopping here this morning just before 10am. Grabbed about 10-12 items I needed and after about 20 mins went to checkout. Went to normal cashier line and seen one cashier open assisting an elderly man. I moved up to go next and she said "oh im sorry, im closing." Ok, so I proceed to move along and notice NO CASHIERS are open. The only option was self checkout which had a good amount of people in the area and the people directing it looked clueless as always. One of the ladies working that area exclaimed to me the line starts the other way. I said yeah thats great but I was already in another line and got forced here. I dont like to self checkout. I dont work for Target. I dont get a paycheck from Target. One of the other main reasons I hate self checkout there from past experiences is whenever you have a question or an issue scanning something, the workers there have an attitude like its not their job to help. I should have taken a video of this moment to be honest because it was amazing just how many target workers were either walking around or standing there talking to one another or sitting behind the Starbucks section eating and laughing. To have no cashiers open is ridiculous. What cashier closes when the store just opened not too long before I got there? So I took my cart with the items I gathered and just left it their at the self checkout line and told them here, i'd rather walkout and not buy anything. A store as big as this Target, with as many employees it has (most times just hanging out with other employees) its unfathomable to me to force customers to put on a metaphorical apron and scan and bag their items without getting a single paycheck...
Read moreThe big news in South Brooklyn is the opening of a Target store at the former location of Toys R Us at the Caesar's Bay Outdoor Mall. I visited this Target on the first day of it's soft opening. The official opening will be on March 14, 2021. This Target is HUGE with an escalator that will carry shoppers and their shopping carts to a second floor. The location has a Starbucks and CVS Pharmacy inside. It also includes a supermarket with fresh produce and many refrigerated food options as well. It has a well-stocked camping section that appeals to people like me who like the outdoors. Additionally, there are two aisles of greeting cards near the main entrance. One of the other details I liked was the presence of receptacles at the entrance for reyclables that included a bin for plastic bags and plastic film. While I like the huge variety and organized presentation of all of it's products, Target adheres to the plastic bag ban only where it is the law like in New York City. I will not give any Target five stars until the Corporation decides to stop using plastic bags in all of its locations throughout the United States. It seems like the corporate bigwigs at Target still don't care enough about the environment to address this issue. And this matters since Target as a nationwide chain has the power to either ban plastic bags from all of it's stores, or to continue with their proliferation. Their lack of action on this will only continue to have a negative impact on the environment. Target can do better in this one area if only enough of its customers put pressure on Target to change this...
Read moreI was shopping online to find the best prices on tiki fuel for my garden and created a screenshot shopping list. As we’re driving around getting errands done, I decided to shop at one of their brick and mortar stores located just off bay parkway. I found the tiki fuel, however, it wasn’t a twin pack as advertised online, they were individual bottles. I asked one of the employees if they would honor the internet pricing, and she kindly answered, yes, and added that they also price-match Walmart. So I grab two tiki fuel 100 Oz bottles and head to the register. One rings up $16.00, so I flag down one of the employees servicing the machines, she was annoyed that I had a screenshot of a better price and responded, she can’t match Target’s online pricing because it’s not a twin pk (this statement was verbalized without even checking) she would be able to charge me $12.00 each. I retorted, I’ll order it online @ 17.00 for the two, and requested a manager. She twirled around hoping I would be distracted and not notice that she never bothered to ask. After waiting, I approached her for an answer, she stated the manager refused the request, I left and will not be returning to shop there again. Stores that hire employees like this make it arduous to support your local business. Congratulations… you lost a local customer. Ordering it online was easy, I received the bottles identical to the way they were in the store, and customer service was exemplary, therefore, this will be my preferred method of shopping with this company from here forward or go to another...
