First of all, the burger was "absolutely phenomenal". It's without a doubt one of the best, if not the best burgers ever. However, there the cajun fries that we ordered were far from phenomenal. When we were offered cajun fries, my friend and I thought of popeyes fries, but the fries we got, while plentiful, were honestly just overly seasoned with what is probably prepackaged jerk seasoning that you can find in a supermarket. The spice covered every bit of the fries and it was very overpowering. The initial flavor was relatively pleasant but after eating multiple fries, it was too much and we ended up throwing out half our remaining fries when we left. Lastly, the restaurant atmosphere. When we sat down there were crumbs everywhere but the only people in the place were the workers. The tables were all pretty dirty so we brushed off the table we sat at. While we were eating, we couldn't help but notice the bland music playing on the speakers. It wasn't too loud or anything, just unpleasant music that would be irrelevant by pretty much anyone's standards. Overall, i give the...
Read moreI remember this as a good burger place but alas things have changed. I got there around 11:10 a couple of days ago so the "busy" excuse does apply. I ordered a small with cheese, mushrooms and sautéed onions, a med fries and soda. Let's start. The cheese was not melted at all, there were 3 shroons, the onions were raw and the bun super soggy. The fries, clearly made from scratch, were limp and tasteless. The first 3 bevs I selected (diet Dr Pepper, diet Coke and diet 7 up) tasteed like Drano. I drank water but even after I told the counter person, it was not addressed. I have been in the food business for over 4 decades so let me offer some advice. Number 1 someone needs to check the soda machine every single morning and adjust it. Number 2 the right frozen fry is much much better. Shack Shack, Nathans, Roll&Roaster, Brennan&Carr and Katz all use frozen and they are to die for. Also, if there are still 5 guys, I hope one of them knows how to make a proper cheeseburger and can teach everyone. FYI, meat CANNOT be prepared well done and...
Read moreSoggy Buns , Over seasoned fries. My parents visited Five guys in Phoenix, AZ. They live in Bklyn, when they went back to Bklyn they figured they go to this Five Guys property and it was a complete dissapointment compared to the properties in the southwest. They asked for grilled vegetables and got a big piece of the rib of the lettuce with the grilled vegetables. Fries were cut differently, they looked and tasted like McDonald's fries. It's supposed to be skin on & thick fries. And I can go on, the list is so long, it's so different , better yet opposite of the quality of the food. Very dissapointed. I want to know who is the district/regional manager for this property because they need to touch base with the southwest region... over there the fries are crispy , hot and properly seasoned, buns are warm and definitely NOT soggy, they are generous with their toppings all the time and at various properties... let's just say my parents ended up going next...
