Through the library window, we glimpsed the Barrows Gallery and my heart sank—would my mom in her wheelchair be able to visit? That worry vanished the moment we approached. A docent materialized as if summoned by our curiosity alone, and what followed was the most gracious welcome I've ever experienced at a gallery. Without hesitation, she produced a foldaway ramp and ushered us inside with genuine warmth. Her tour was captivating, illuminating the works with insight and enthusiasm. She even shared a fascinating tale about the Syracuse public library scandal involving Barrow's work—ask about it when you visit! The gallery itself is a treasure—intimate and lovely, with John Barrow's paintings ingeniously framed within the original wainscoting. But she didn't stop there. She arranged for docent Wess to guide us on a walking tour of the village. Wess proved equally delightful—knowledgeable, engaging, and attentive to our pace and interests. We absorbed local history and hidden stories we would never have discovered on our own. The Barrows Gallery doesn't just display art—it practices hospitality as an art form. If you find yourself in Skaneateles, this is essential,...

I would recommend a visit if you are in the area and enjoy original art particullarly that celebrates the beauty of Skaneateles...
