My review and rating is based upon my experience at the food pantry. I was treated so horribly that i was compelled to share my experience so that hopefully no one else would have to endure the same mistreatment and that someone higher up can address the behavior of the volunteers towards the community that they are being provided food to serve. The volunteers that i encountered today were fairly mannered but 3 in particular including the woman that claims she is in charge of running the pantry needs to be trained on how to speak and treat people. The woman in charge was actually worse than the other two women because you expect more from someone in charge. I observed that there were two tables prepared with meat chicken and fish and beef and another with bagged up what looked like to be chicken nuggets. The first table the lady with the nuggets didnt asked me any questions and just dumped the nuggets in my bag. So i said you didn't ask me what i would like and i asked for chicken instead. The woman said you already have chicken. You have nuggets so you can't get meat. She didn't give me an option and actually told me that what ever she gives me i get. We don't get to choose or have an option even though its right there in the open. The audacity. A food pantry being funded with food from the City Harvest and this is how people are being treated? I wasn't the only one that experienced this type of treatment. I witnessed many other people being treated this way by the same two volunteers who were older ladies. And it was despicable. A women had ground pork dumped in her bag no questions asked and when she opted for the fish because she does not eat meat the woman at the meat table to put it short called her liar and said oh she's just saying that because she sees the fish and refused to give it to her. Im sure that these are volunteers from the church so why are you judging people. You are giving the church a bad name. You are a direct representation. Its like you have to beg like a dog. and kiss their butt. and still cant get what you need although the city is providing it free of charge. This has got to stop. After waiting on line for two hours two food trucks unloaded food into the building a great amount. The line moved quickly and as it wasn't that much of crowd. When i did finally get in there was hardly any food on the tables and i left with four items in bag. A bag of lettuce,1 sandwich, chicken nuggets and a croissant and that was it. I also noticed they had all off the good items like cookies and cakes off to the side and they weren't an option for us, most likely for themselves and in good condition. We had to choose from damaged pastries and baked goods and there wasn't much to choose from. The boxes were opened and crushed. Please if you are going to operate a food pantry treat the patrons respectfully. We are human beings. If the food is being provided give it willingly. Allow people to have options especially if its there to choose from. Stop power tripping and being greedy. Once again treat others how you would like...
Read morePretentious & Superficial ! Don't be fooled, bunch of hypocrites... at the beginning of the service they do meet and greet fellowship hugging and shaking hands then at the end of the service they literally try to knock one another down getting out the door. When I attended they would periodically stop at different points in the service to pass collection plate around for different things they were raising money 💰 for. I couldn't understand why they couldn't just have one collection or if need be place a table somewhere with different collection boxes for different things that money is needed for. Very time-consuming. Three hours service not my cup of tea. Once attended a young married couples get together at Pastor flakes house he had people on the committee host it. And him and his wife didn't even stay although it was at their house, they left to do other things.I guess I just don't understand church structure and do's and don'ts. There are more things that I saw while attending that church but their members, I'm sure would just say that I'm bashing the place so I'll just end this by saying that this place was definitely not A good...
Read moreVery large church easy to get lost in it. Meet and Greeters are friendly but ushering out is very scary, End of service people were heading to the front instead of the Exits. There should be some order in the exiting. Heard the choir sing at a gospelfest GREAT voices, unfortunately you cant quite hear them due to poor sound system. Needs an upgrade due to the size of the church. Co Pastor Elaine is Awesome, .Rev. Carson blew me away Powerful Powerful Powerful.
UPDATE “2020” I’ve been attending Allen, In the beginning I felt a bit lost it is a large church but today this church is my place of peace, refuge and worship, Once people start seeing you on a regular basis you begin to spiritually connect, I am happy that the spirit of Allen continued to draw me in every Sunday to worship with them. Best choir, best dance ministry, most of all the best teaching/preaching ministry on earth. I Love this church and all that it does for the community. Thank you God yet again for...
