Would have given 0 stars if possible for the extremely frustrating online ordering experience recently. I placed an online order for in-store pickup on October 5th for an item that showed as being available. The estimated delivery date was between October 16-21 - slower than I expected, but the tracking information showed that the package was shipping from Arizona, so fine. As October 21 approached, I received an update that the package is still on the way, but is delayed with a new estimated arrival date of October 23. Fine - delays happen. The 23rd rolls around and the package is still in transit; now I'm getting annoyed since it's holding up my home improvement plans. I decide to call Home Depot to inquire about the delay, and their response was basically just, "Oh well it's late. We don't know why. There's nothing we can do"...very infuriating, but I decide to stay patient and give them another chance. On the 24th I see that the package is now in NJ. Cool, we're making progress - should not be much longer, right? It's now the 29th of October and there has been no updates since the 24th, so I call again. It turns out that the physical package itself never shipped!! According to the representative, the item I ordered is back-ordered, and that the tracking must have just been for the order paperwork itself...what?!?! I've been waiting over 3 weeks for a package that was never actually in transit, and was misled to believe the entire time that it was on the way but just experiencing some delays!?! I immediately cancelled my order. This is completely unacceptable and has completely soured my impression of Home Depot. The way I see it, either Home Depot was being deliberately deceitful or their system is wholly inadequate at accurately tracking order status...neither of which reflects...
Read moreAfter having a home delivery I found I needed one more bundle of starter shingles, after giving them 5 stars about their delivery I was so confused as to why none of the people in charge of the store were willing to help solve the situation. All the floor workers were willing to help, but the person in charge just said nope nothing left. Now I understand that it's all gone, but NO asking do you want to order it, to even see if another store had it.I had recently had a delivery coming over 1,500 dollars .I personally will never ever use the store on Targee street. They were so blaise about my needing this item to finish my project. Now as to why I was really upset was that I called before I went and they said they had nine starter strips I stock. Now I completely understand we're in a crisis about not having things replenished, they were like sorry nope we don't have it I said I just called to confirm there was some.no we don't have any and whoever was in charge of the lumber insisted in telling me the end caps were exactly what I needed.Im old but that feeling like I don't even know what I wanted was unbelievable.Hey I have a voice and I'm going to use it.I wanted to start the project not end it. I felt very put out treating me like oh that stupid woman what would she know, just sell her something and get her out of here.Well I'm irrate at being treated this way. I personally will not do any business with your store on Targee street and want you to know how dissatisfied I was with my treatment yesterday.i hardly ever stand up for myself, but I wanted to tell you what a horrible experience I had there yesterday.i'm letting you know I feel the people there need a attitude adjustment in...
Read moreI shop here all the time and buy paint multiple times a week. The person behind the paint counter should absolutely not be working there (Raj or Rahj). He has the worst attitude Iâve ever seen for a sales associate and clearly hates his job.
He doesnât acknowledge people when theyâre standing at the counter, no hello , no âsorry Iâm busy can you give me a minuteâ, nothing. My first encounter with him involved 4 customers waiting while he went to get his Wendyâs order from the back. He came back, ate his fries, did a few things on his computer - doesnât say anything to anyone. Weâre all looking at each other because weâve never experienced anything like this and heâs not phased at all. When you do get service, he expects you to know everything and acts annoyed if you donât.
Today was the best, Iâm waiting for 5 minutes for Rahj , or anyone actually, to show up to the paint desk. He finally strolls up, looks up something on the computer and then leaves. Who cares that several customers are waiting right? He comes back a few minutes later and then makes a comment that âIt would be nice if you were standing in front of meâ.
Home Depot, you can do better than this. I donât so much care that I needed to wait for someone but itâs the attitude that bothers me. Vet your people , train them better, do whatever it takes to keep people from not wanting to switch to another store or vendor. I actually DONâT look forward to going to that store anymore because of these...
