I booked a massage for my right hip and was recommended the hot stone therapy. From the moment I walked into Vivis Nails Head Spa, I was greeted with warm smiles and immediately noticed how clean, spacious, and beautifully designed the entire space is — even the back spa area is stunning.
I was brought into one of the private spa rooms and given a spa wrap to change into — the kind that snaps closed around the chest. Then came Leah (I hope I’m spelling her name right!), who was kind, professional, and incredibly intuitive. She didn’t speak much English, but she used a translator app on her phone and explained everything so clearly — from which areas of my body needed healing to how they’re connected to different internal organs. I was honestly blown away by how thorough and attentive she was. Leah was amazing. It was 60 minutes of pure bliss, and I walked out of that room feeling so light and relaxed.
Afterwards, I got a vitamin spa pedicure with Rona, and she did a beautiful job. Super gentle and detail-oriented. I left the salon feeling completely zen.
I’m definitely going back to try their head spa next! Also — bonus points — they do gel fill-ins (which are surprisingly hard to find in The Rockaways), their prices are super reasonable, and there’s parking in the back lot.
Highly recommend the community check out Vivis Nails Head Spa. Total gem! P.S. I really hope they start offering facials soon — I’d be...
Read moreI was really excited to see a new nail spa open in Rockaway Park. I made my way in and asked the lady for a regular pedicure. She proceeded to sit me down on the spa chair and gave me the spa pedicure menu. The cheapest pedicure on the menu was $48 as mentioned I came in for a regular pedicure and was looking for the option of the regular pedicure, which was not listed on the menu I ended up picking the cheapest spa pedicure available which was $48. once the service was completed and I walked to the front to pay, I see that they have small to go menus with more prices. once I opened the small menu it shows the option for a regular pedicure for $30. I don’t understand why I wasn’t offered that when I specifically walked in asking for a regular pedicure. I will say the spa pedicure was nice but when you’re looking for something more affordable, it would be nice to be given that option as well. I was never given that option and felt like the only options I had were the spa pedicure. I really think they should list their regular pedicure price somewhere for people to see. I do feel like I was conned into only buying the more expensive option when I specifically asked for REGUALR pedicure when I walked in. They even offered me gel and I said no I just want regular pedicure. Very upsetting when you were only trying to stay in a certain budget and that IS...
Read moreThis was my second visit to the salon within a week. My first experience, a mani/pedi with John, was excellent — friendly service, great attention to detail, and an overall pleasant visit.
Unfortunately, today’s visit with my mother and daughter was disappointing. The manicures felt rushed, and mine was sloppy. The manicurist working on my mother simply got up and walked away without placing her under the dryer. I also noticed a miscommunication; it seemed the manicurist wasn’t aware she was to do an additional manicure, which may explain her hurried manner. Still, that doesn’t excuse the lack of care or professionalism — customers shouldn’t feel rushed or under-served.
If the salon’s focus is primarily on gel services, perhaps basic manicures should be reconsidered as an offering. It felt like both manicurist couldn’t be bothered with doing basic manicures. To add to the frustration, the cashier “forgot” to ring up the children’s manicure at the correct price, even with my daughter standing right there, until I pointed out the difference.
Overall, this experience fell short of expectations and contrasted sharply with my first visit. There are too many options in the area, to tolerate inconsistent, ...
