I took my 3 year old and my 4 1/2 year old here and it was fantastic! There are giant umbrellas that cover large sections of the equipment so there were areas for shade when we needed it. There were really neat pieces that I've never seen before! There's a "boat" with 6 seats and it rocks back and forth with the aid of an adult. There's a little roller conveyor belt with bars overhead so they can slide along. There is this neat little car that slides along a bar and you control it with a twisting motion. Plus there's oodles of slides, and lots of unique climbing equipment. All of this is over that bouncy, soft, forgiving rubber mat kind of flooring. There was a porta potty very close by, so if you need it it's there. Everything was clean and we'll maintained!!! I have been anticipating this playground to be finished for quite some time! I'm so excited to take my granddaughter here someday soon as the weather is warming up! There are so many fun and interesting playground activities here. I am very impressed with the surface foundation as well. It's comfortable,cushioned and durable. I told her mother about its completion and we're really excited for this new and exciting addition to the city of Newark's parks an recreation facilities.
