I debated not sharing this because I have had positive experiences at this cafe for years...however my gum has been swollen and in pain for most of the day and its aggravated me enough to post this. I went there this afternoon for coffee and food. I've had a lot of bakery items there but not a sandwich. I ordered a panini and they were really nice about accommodating me with finding food since they were out of a lot of options. About halfway through the first part of the sandwich, I took a bite and had a stabbing pain in my right gum. I spit out the food in my mouth and felt something dangling in my gum. Having never cracked a tooth but seeing it happen to friends enough to think this is what it was, I threw out my coffee and sandwich and ran out to my car near tears. I looked in my rear view mirror and saw what looked like metal. I pulled it out. I attached a picture of it here. I drove home and told my boyfriend. He went back later to talk to someone...I had felt too embarrassed and was in pain and didnt feel like going in. He said they were nice about it and gave me a refund on the sandwich. Being in food service, I especially appreciate that and know when something is found in food there isn't a whole lot to do to fix what has happened. However, it has hurt to eat the rest of the day and my gum is still swollen, and getting what apparently was from a grill brush (or something like that to scrub it down) jammed into my mouth so painfully just felt like something I wanted to share. I will still get groceries here but I will not be going back to the...
Read moreI didn’t just grab vegan chocolate at 67 Cafe — I grabbed a whole experience. After snagging a delicious vegan chocolate bar from the neighboring Newark Natural Foods, I wandered into 67 Cafe, found myself a super comfy chair, and set up shop to study something a little niche: autonomous vehicle prompt engineering (yeah, it’s as futuristic as it sounds).
The atmosphere here is perfect for focus — relaxed, welcoming, and with that kind of low hum that makes you feel like you’re part of a quiet but thriving community. And I have to give a huge shoutout to Raina, who was working the counter when I came in and whom I rewarded a decent tip to. Friendly, efficient, and just genuinely good energy — exactly the kind of person you want as the face of a neighborhood spot.
Whether you’re looking for a place to sip, snack, or deep-dive into a cutting-edge study session, 67 Cafe has you covered. I’ll absolutely be back — probably with another vegan treat in one hand and a laptop full of AI prompts in...
Read moreMy wife and I stopped here for a latte on a trip. The employees are very nice, but they do not have good espresso beans for decaf. This is the worst decaf espresso I’ve ever had taste like water and there is no foam. And I don’t blame the employees working there. This place has the smallest cheapest espresso machine I’ve ever seen in a coffee shop. Poor girl sat there forever, trying to get the milk, caught enough and did her best to steam it. A business owner you can buy a really good espresso machine for $400. Hey business owner: Why don’t you pony up a little extra money and make it easier on...
