I have legit been waiting for this store to open. I didnāt want to take photos today since it was PACKED but I will update with photos then. If you ever went to darrenkamps when it was here Karns has the same setup. Meat department is well stocked with very fresh meat. They also have meat bundles that you can purchase that range from approx $59-$79. They have a bakery and a strong selection of frozen foods. Basically everything you need you can reroute here from the āblue storeā up the road. Now the staff were very friendly and made sure everyone was being helped. Cashiers were fast (they had all lanes open) and friendly. I did get the reward card but I still need to activate it. Overall I am very happy this store is here. For those people that coupon make sure to read the coupon policy on their website. Karns does double but read the fine print :) to sum up I give this store 5/5 quality of items . 5/5 customer service . 5/5...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI appreciate that they now have the deli hot food bar open. The food in the hot food bar is okay. They always seem to have a chicken dish of some kind, and various vegetable dishes. They have a seafood Mac that's usually pretty good. I appreciate the have a Facebook page that they usually post what they've got on the hot bar that day. I look for those posts determine if I'm going to head to carnes for something from the hot bar. If they don't do the post then I don't head out, I hope they remember to post every morning, they've been missing some mornings recently. Karns for the most part is a pretty decent grocery store. Prices are comparable with other grocery stores, but not at the Walmart level of pricing. However I will go to karns for some things, and Walmart, which is just up the road, I might stop at for some other things if I think the price difference is enough to have the hassle of going into Walmart and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLots & lots of store brands here so we tried various food stuffs. Not impressed. Poor selection of cheeses and meats which was surprising. We tried their NY strip steaks but they did not have much flavor, ditto for the milk, breads, yogurt & cheeses that we purchased. You would think with the favorable weather conditions here in Central PA all of those items would be very delectable but we were very disappointed. About the only item that we found to be quite savory was the John Soules chicken patties which came from the freezer. We also bought some "fresh" chicken breasts which were absolutely huge, but that same evening when I opened the bag to put them on the barbeque they were extra slimey, so we made something else for dinner. As the ol' saying goes, when in doubt throw it out! So our experience with Karn's Foods is that this store is a...
