Value Inn, Harrisburg - York — Hotel in Newberry Township

There are truckers that live here. Room appeared clean but furniture outdated. Tv was newer and decent. I had to buy my own cleaning supplies from a dollar store so I could scrub the brown dirt ring out of the tub and scrub the soap scum and left over dried soap/body wash off of the shower walls. I had to scrub the toilet because you could see, where the lid/seat lift up, there was old dried urine as well as the water ring inside the toilet where it hasn’t been scrubbed in a long time and also the urine that has dripped down the front of the toilet on to the floor. I scrubbed and disinfect (the best I could) the tub/shower, whole toilet, bathroom floor, and sink just so we could feel somewhat sanitary. The beds were clean and somewhat comfy. Room was clean but we did find dropped food and candy along the edges of the bed and mirror over the sink was filthy too. We checked in at 630pm today, 5/25/18, with a 4yr old and 7yr old and I had left out and returned to clean and completed the mission by 730pm. I haven’t found any bugs or mold but the hallways reek of marijuana and our room did initially but I hit it with febreeze a few times. AC is old and ugly but is ice cold. Front desk that check us in were very nice and personable. Can’t advise on the continental breakfast yet but I can’t imagine it’s worth a whole meal at this point. Not happy so far but the beds are ok comfortable...

I just needed a place to stay the night. This review could have been worse because the place looked only about half full yet i was give a room on the second level. I have bad knees, stairs are my friends and I was upset I was going to use them. I thought the key number meant building 2 room 15. Anyway, I was greeted by a manager who thought I couldn't find my room. When he told me of the stairs and I told him of my knees, he offered a refund. It being late, I said no I deal with the stairs. He then said, no! He then got on his phone, called his wife on the front desk and said it is past 11pm that is over an hour longer that we holder reservations, so he gave me a room on the ground floor. Came here for a getaway with my girl, we thought we found a great place for a good price, turns out no. The room we were given was empty it felt like it was missing things, while this place might be great for travelers or people just spending the night, it was not a good place to go for a couple, decided to leave was willing to pay for the night but the owner was nice and gave us a refund.
