Absolutely stunning here. Very private beach not known to many people. Never crowded here even in the peak of summer! There are natural tidepools here that come and go with the rise and fall of the tide of course. Just be careful not to take or disturb any of the wildlife in the tidepools. Protect their environment and keep this place nice, that way we can always come back and enjoy this beautiful spot underneath the mammoth seaside cliffs.. oh yea did I mention the sea caves, only accessible during the day at low tide but so majestic and awesome, really completes the whole experience. Feeling one with nature amd taking in all the natural beauty. Unlike all the major touristy beaches nearby, this place is never crowded even when the nearest beach (Corona Del Mar) is jam packed visible off in the distance. You loom at that beach and then this one you're at and you feel grateful for the privacy, even though you're just a stones throw away from the big beach.. the tidepools and caves conveniently form a natural land barrier, blocking all foot traffic coming from the main beach, eliminating easy access over to this beach.. is a gift...
Read moreLittle Corona Del Mar Beach is just about in the same area and stretch of beach as the Corona Del Mar State Beach, give or take some rocky cliffside passages to go with the tides! This little sanctuary is furthermore connected via the south end of Beach Blvd. Street level parking may be more convenient here by the junction of Poppy Avenue, where the paved inclined footpath connects with the beach. The beach here has advantages of the larger beach, tho less crowded. There’s lifeguards in attendance, restrooms and outside showers available. Swimming, boogie-boarding and beach-combing may be the intended purposes, tho there’s other fun things to do! It is a small beach, so due to the lack of width, I wouldn’t recommend surfing here, especially with the rocks on both sides and the danger of colliding with swimmers and boogie boarders. Common activities also include exploring the unique landscape and tide-pools. I’ve enjoyed this beach on slower weekdays, whereas weekends here become a popular alternative to the busier parks. Just being able to set down a beach towel may be all that’s needed for many visitors, once they make it...
Read moreI found out about this tiny gem while Google searching for tide pools near Disneyland. After reading the reviews, I was 100% sold and couldn't wait to visit. This beach did not disappoint! We easily found street parking in the most beautiful neighborhood, and the walk down to the beach was pleasant and filled with so many great photo ops. Halfway down there is a clean bathroom facility with outside showers to wash off the salt and sand. The most magnificent feature was the incredible tide pools filled with sea life. The kids and adults both loved exploring and seeing all the tiny creatures waiting for the tide to return. Be prepared for COLD water, though. Overall, it was so much fun to spend a couple hours here. We hope to come back in the spring during our next Disneyland trip! Oh, by the way, it's a 5 minute drive to...
