Newport Surfrider — Attraction in Newport Beach

Captain Dustin and Newport Surfrider are by far the superior whale and dolphin watching experience. This is an adventure on a brand new high speed boat, although Dustin would cater to any needs if you don’t like going fast to those spots whales are sited to be sure to see them. You will see dolphins on every trip out there- but not necessarily mega pods- we did. It was amazing. With the kind of boat Dustin has, they play with you, in the wake. You can tell when someone loves what they do- and it shows with captain Dusty. And to see a blue whale as quickly as we did and for as long as we did- at least a half an hour- it was a once in a lifetime experience for the boatload of locals here who have tried a few times with other companies, only to be disappointed. (We had tried a week earlier even, as we had a friend in town who had moved out of state). Said hello to sea lions too- one even swam along with us in the harbor. As soon as we got safely out of the harbor, the tunes were pumping’ and we took off on our exclusive wild ride adventure. Hold on to your hats- this is is not like any other excursion out there! We had an incredible experience riding with Dustin! Our family with 4 kids (the youngest is 3) had such a good time. He found a super pod of common dolphins (around a thousand of them) and we were surrounded by them for a really long time. It was honestly magical. Being in a small boat we were right there next to them jumping and swimming right next to us and he was able to maneuver easily to get around. He then found some bottle nose dolphins and sea lions at the end. He is very knowledgeable about animals and this area. It was fun hearing which famous people owned what houses in the harbor and learning about the history of Newport....

After extensive research we were able to take our toddlers on their first boat experience with hopes of witnessing marine life . Captain Dustin made sure we found “dolphin city “! One of the biggest pod of dolphins cruising along us …thousands of them ! Due to my motion sickness I was a bit worried for my trip but everything went smooth because my birthday celebration was perfect: boat ride, marine life , good music & vibe and..the enchanted Captain Dustin who made a very good impression on my sassy toddler. Trust my many hours or research, don’t waste your time and go for it ..it will be a 5...
