I had a very good experience with Lee, he was very kind. The part was installed as per the request of Ronco Generators. It was an extremely painful experiece for me. After he had gone, and I had collected myself, I read the report. There were several areas that I question. I guess I'll haveto call.
I have been at my wits end since my husband died. It seems like everything under the sun has gone wrong. Things I know nothing about. What I call the "man" to do stuff. Today I actually broke down in tears when Erik showed me what was wrong. I said something to him and he gave me a big hug. A big smile and said I will get it taken care of for you. He taught me what to do and even made me a note to help me remember. Before he left he gave me another big hug. I really needed those hugs. I am all alone in the world now and struggling to maintain our home. It was just newly renovated. My husband didn't get to enjoy it, nor make it to his retirement next month. Erik took a lot of stress off when he showed me the problem and taught me what to do. I needed an angel in my day. I have had some really rough ones. I feel very blessed that he is the one to service my unit. If I need anything else, I will ask for him. Thank you Erik for making my day brighter.
That was then, but today, however, is a completely different story. I had my routine maintenance set up for him to come between 12 and 4 pm, I always have to cut my day short for these kind of appointments, and today was no exception. I was home by 11:40 am from another appointment. I was not going to waste the day completely by sitting in the house twiddling my thumbs, waiting on the tech to arrive whenever. So I put a note on the front door that I was in the backyard on the deck. I had flowers to repot. I left the garage door open and my car was there. I left the gate open. I told him to come back, in case I didn't hear him come to the door. I had my phone with me from the time I got up in the am. I have a ring security system. It notifies me when someone has arrived. There was a very slim chance that I wouldn't have known. I still had my phone in case he called. I had answered several calls while waiting for him. At a little before five, I called and asked why he did not show up. This has never happened in all the time I remember them coming. I, personally, have never had to confirm an appointment before arrival. I can't say for my late husband. It has only been two years, so I have not had all that many appointments. I don't think he ever had to either, but I don't know. Anyway, when I called the agent could not find me in the system, which was very strange. Finally she found me and said it said he called five times and left a voicemail starting at a little after 11 this morning. I did not have any missed calls, nor did I have any voicemails. She adamantly corrected me and said she had a recording of the voicemail. I told her that it had to be a lie because I didn't get a voicemail. Things got agitated from that point on. I don't know who this tech called, but it was not me. I even called my phone carrier and they could not find anything. Now I have to have another day messed up, because of their screw up. I am not the only unhappy customer lately. When One Hour was bought out, it went downhill. This is happening with a lot of Service vendors that were local. They look local, but aren't actually. You can barely speak to a live person anymore. I hate the AL generated bots when you call someplace, or go to a chat. It takes a major act of congress to get a live person, and then they work from home, with kids screaming, dogs barking, half listening...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreRUN FAR -- RUN FAST if One Hour wants your business!!! DO NOT get their scheduled maintenance service! In 2023 they wrecked the system I bought from them new in 2012 ($8,000). Unfortunately, I fell for their "mold in the ductwork" problem that surfaced during one such service call in 2019. So, $10,000 later I had new aero sealed ductwork to go along with the awesome 2012 system they sold and installed. In 2023 a vibration developed in the inside air handler. The tech helped me understand what was happening with my system and made an adjustment to help mitigate further vibration damage until a proper repair could be decided on. Sounded great! Right? Unfortunately, One Hour informed me that the repair COULD NOT be done without removing the entire unit! The unit's installation was THEIR work from 2012 to begin with! But they quoted an exorbitant cost -- mostly labor -- for the repair. BUT, if I bought a whole new system ($10,000) then they would guarantee it for 10 years parts & labor. FINE! This most recent purchase brought my 12-year total for my single residential HVAC serviced exclusively by One Hour up to $28,000 -- or $2,333 per year since 2012! Not to mention the monthly "Comfort Club" fees! NOW they're NOT HONORING service appointments! They called to cancel & reschedule the DAY OF my 1 Nov 2024 appointment. Then they simply DIDN'T SHOW UP for the re-scheduled 22 Nov 2024 appointment! This is NOT ACCEPTABLE! ONE STAR is a generous rating! Go get your HVAC elsewhere!
12/05/2024 UPDATE: OK, it's been10 DAYS now since I contacted you like the "Owner Response" said. Is this your idea of a "prompt reply"? I HAVE NOT HEARD FROM YOU! As usual, One Hour's eyewash about "Your satisfaction is our priority" is just that! -- eyewash for the social mediaĀ masses. I'm not seeing ANY effort toward the "opportunity to make things right". Can't you even contact me to rescheduleĀ the maintenance visit I've been paying you MONTHLY to perform? AndĀ will you even show up for it? You owe me answers! and/or money!

Ā Ā Ā Read moreOh, where do I even begin to sing the praises of Frank, the AC savior extraordinaire? Picture this: a knight in shining HVAC armor arriving at our doorstep, ready to battle the fiery dragon that was our malfunctioning air conditioner. But fear not, for Frank was armed not with a sword, but with his trusty toolbox and a smile brighter than a thousand suns.
From the moment he stepped into our humble abode, it was like a breath of fresh, cool air swept through the room ā and that was even before he fixed the AC! His charm was as refreshing as a cold lemonade on a scorching summer day, and his professionalism? Oh, it was as sharp as a well-maintained screwdriver in the hands of a master craftsman.
Frank wasn't just a repairman; he was a maestro conducting the symphony of our cooling woes with finesse and precision. With each deft movement, he danced around the unit like a seasoned pro, and we couldn't help but be mesmerized by his graceful expertise. It was like watching a magician pull a rabbit out of a hat, except in this case, the rabbit was a fully functioning air conditioner!
But wait, there's more! Not only was Frank a wizard with all things AC-related, but he also had the charm and wit to match. His jokes were as cool as the air he was about to unleash upon us, and his banter kept us entertained throughout the entire repair process. We laughed, we cried (from joy, of course), and we marveled at the sheer brilliance that was Frank, the AC whisperer.
In conclusion, if you ever find yourself in need of AC salvation, look no further than Frank. He's not just a repairman; he's a hero, a legend, a beacon of light in a world of sweltering despair. Thank you, Frank, for bringing coolness back into our lives ā both literally and figuratively. You're not just a repairman; you're a rockstar in a sea of mundane handymen. Hats off to you, sir!
Sincerely, The Schrank Family and Family...
