Local Heroes — Attraction in Norfolk

Really well setup comic book store. Excellent customer service. They do put a limit on how many of the same titles you can buy. Which does allow for a great selection of choices. Overall a really good experience.* that was my rating from 3 months ago.* Today September 1, 2021. I went in as I have every week for three months. Picked up one copy of each book I wanted. This is because I know you can't purchase multiples of any one copy. I'm masked while in the store due to COVID. When I go to the register, a lady named ''Diarra' stated that I had bought certain copies before that particular day. Then she started taking out books I wanted to purchase saying I bought them on a previous day. Then I had to tell her that I had not in fact purchased the books she referred to. At no point did she look me or my credit card up in their computer system. She took out certain books anyway. Also she was training a new guy at the same time. This was embarrassing and demeaning as a customer. So the customer service now is terrible. I have personally spent hundreds of dollars with this shop. So to be treated this way is horrible. Avoid this place if you come across the lady named 'Diarra', she may decide what you can and can't purchase arbitrarily.*Update September 2,2021 I spoke to a manager Greg at the local heroes and he condoned the behavior of his employee. This is going to be my go to shop for everything comic book related! The staff is enthusiastic and very knowledgeable as they indulge in what they sell! The shop is clean and well stocked, although if you are someone who invests in older issues they don't offer long boxes galore of back issues to peruse through. If that's your ticket there are a few other shops you can go to and climb over long boxes to your hearts content. This shop is great for current and fairly current issues, graphic novels and compilations. They offer a special kids section for parents who might be concerned with content for their kids. Lots of associated goodies too, like collectibles, pins, t-shirts, statues...my first time in here was to make a quick pick up of a hard to find issue, and I wandered around for an hour and a half looking at everything from wall to wall and floor to ceiling. A phenomenal establishment! This comic store may very well be my mainstay so long as i am within norfolk, even then i would make a trip out every now and then. The way that this place has been set up and laid out is just so open and inviting. The comic selection is never stale or lacking, even if a certain series is missing a majority of their issues, but thats to be expected. I would have to say where the store is located, it is both great planning and a recipe for disaster. One comes in and enjoys some hearty music, comics and the like, they leave with a decent dent in their wallet. Then there lies options for eateries within an arms reach almost. Be wary to not come hungry and wanton for new issues. All in all, this place has really helped me with getting back into comic books as a hobby and...
