I have no complaints against the store. The staff is very helpful, store is clean and well organized. I absolutely love this store, and hate writing negative review but the experience was bad I just couldn't resist writing. The rating and review is for the free cupcake decorating class. This week I attended the class decorating cupcakes with flowers, it was the worst class I have ever been to. The instructor was not aware of what to teach. Being a beginner I was expecting some good information about filling the icing bag, different kind of tips and how to use them and making patterns using the tips that were mentioned in the supply list. Instead of focusing on teaching techniques it seemed liked she was busy learning piping herself. She insisted on using stiff piping even after I told her it was too thick to handle, being a new bee I just Followed her instruction and kept going after about 45 minutes my fingers and arm literally started hurting, most of the time she was busy talking to another lady attending the class, least bothered whether we needed any help. When an hour was left she told us we could leave if wanted to, out of frustration I immediately left the class. All in all she wasn't qualified for the job at all. It was a total waste of time. I do not recommend anyone to attend this class, specially if the instructor is not available and some substitute is doing the job. Make sure you check with the store...
Read moreMichael's are packed like the warehouse at the end of Raiders. Last time I'm in the store I have to ask 3 different people for help finding something. The last person tried, like the first two, to just point and direct me to a general location. I had to ask this person to actually show me, and reluctantly they did. Now, it was close to closing, the store was relatively empty, and two of the three people I asked we're not completely in the middle of other work and could have easily shown me where to find what I was looking for. Still, I ended up wasting a good deal of time walking around and around that store searching for one very specific item.
Wouldn't you know after I found the item, within the next 3 minutes two different employees came up to me to let me know the store was closing soon. So I have to search around to get reluctant help from employees but when it's time to go home people are eager to approach me to let me know to get out. Not the kind of environment that encourages...
Read moreThis is my first time at this Michaels. I usually frequent the one in Woodhaven New York and I have NEVER experienced such terrible customer service. If I could leave a negative review I would. The rest of the staff was kind and attentive but the cashier who assisted me was Donna. As my family and I were walking to her station she was talking to another associate about a “Mexican” client who presented a $20 bill and was saying derogatory things about them.
As we were attempting to do the transaction she made the process so difficult. She was reviewing the flowers we picked up and noticed a bundle we didn’t want, so we asked her to please remove it. She huffed, and grabbed the bundle and set it aside. I don’t understand why she would give us such an attitude because we were so pleasant towards her. Donna clearly didn’t want to do her job and it was very evident in her attitude.
