Sarku Japan Teriyaki & Sushi Express — Restaurant in North Brunswick Township

I am writing in response to the review posted by Melanie De Gardnuer earlier today. I was present at the store as a customer buying dinner for my family at the time when she was there. The store manager I witnessed was purely professional and accommodating -- he delivered commendable service. The most "blasphemous" thing I witnessed was the manager holding open a plastic bag for her drink while the customer fumbled with her change; when she saw him doing so, she rudely questioned why, and he gently shared that it was for her drink. The fellow customer sat down with some of her food while waiting for the remainder, and began eating it in the seating area that had been shut down because of the pandemic. The manager never once raised his voice and very reasonably conveyed that the area was closed due to COVID-19 store policy, and that unfortunately, she was not supposed to eat there. The tantrum she threw at him in front of his employees was unacceptable and undeserved. Given that she threatened to write a Google review, I decided to check. The content is false and wholly 'Karen' behavior. Hope everyone is safe and well...

We have been going to this one in North Brunswick for many years and the quality of food has gone down hill. A few months ago we purchased or normal Chicken Teriyaki with rice and veggies. Well, the chicken had a crunch to it, the rice was fine and the veggies which was cabbage was crunchy like not cooked. The chicken had a taste to it as if burned but it was not burned. Today we tried again after our last let down and it was disgusting to say the least. The chicken was actually charred, we had the noodles and it tasted burned, no veggies this time were added. The noodles did not taste like noodles, just tasted like something that was burned cooked with something other or again it was whatever foul oil used. Not even the extra teriyaki sauce and hot sauce could mask it. A few hours later that nasty taste we still have. There are other's that are far better, so whomever the owner is of this establishment, your in for a rude awakening if you cannot keep up with your place of business food wise. Management forces you to take prepared sushi from the chilled area and REFUSES to provide fresh prepared on upon order! First of all where is a sign in which states company policy??? I frequent the location in East Brunswick and never have I once ever encountered such, not even close to closing time the staff are really welcoming there and the atmosphere is very relaxing! I figured I am much closer to this location so why not, but to have a run in with such snotty rude demands with such an uptight atmosphere! I, myself as a nurse whom goes the million miles for my patients’ satisfaction would never imagine such an experience in customer service especially such as a business providing food to paying patrons.
