I came to investigate this park in my pursuit of finding somewhere closer to home to exercise. I had previously been to this park at night when my daughter volunteered here for the Haunted Hamptons event that is held every year near Halloween when they transform the park into a haunted trail. This is a popular event that brings out a lot of people from the community. This was my first day visit.
There are two parts of the parking lot. Part of the lot is on one side of the canal and then you cross the bridge to get into the park or you can drive across the canal by going to the left side of the lot and then you can park closer to the park which is probably safer.
This park has some great amenities. At the center of the park is a large lake. Along the lake are 7 pavilions or shelters that come with water, electricity, and grills. anyone can rent. In addition there is a indoor community center that can be rented for parties by North Lauderdale residents only. Running along the lake is a hiking, walking, biking trail that has exercise stations. The park has two playgrounds and two beach volleyball pits. The lake has various boats for rent on the weekends. If you are licensed you can fish the lake.
This is very picturesque park. The lake is lovely and the trails running around it are great for exercising. I really enjoyed my walk today. I would like to come back on a weekend and rent a...
Read moreAmazing park.I am an avid walker, and love to do so in and surrounded by nature;and much prefer to do it on trails/grass/dirt instead of concrete. Much to my surprise, this GEM of a park had trails in the woods ,with the aroma of the the forest /flora/& sweet nature. They are not big trails at all, however, they're user friendly and varied throughout the park so it keeps it interesting ;with enough to really enjoy it and get a wet sweat walking workout in. I did some of the concrete paths, and usually was able to soft walk along them in the dirr/grass.Super well maintained, all you have to do,as I did,is vow to cover EVERY inch of the paths and trails and you'll have a much better experience than just walking the concrete paths.Oh,and let me add,I'm from NJ.,and the topography here really gave me a summer feel/smell,and connection to to nature. We have beautiful parks in the mountains there, but today,it was(&will be tommorrow morning)all about Hampton...
Read moreThe park is nice and very clean. The main trail is a mile long and there are many exercise stations along the way. Great for running and working out. There are two separate playgrounds on either end of the park with swings and seesaw, slides and more. Two warnings, do not come here alone. There are sometimes sketchy people hanging around just watching and it is uncomfortable and that includes daylight hours. And the squirrels here are VERY habituated. They will approach and some even go as far as climbing on you. People have clearly been feeding them for years.l despite the sign which says not to. Habituated animals are more likely to spread disease and become aggressive if you have no food to hand out. I have been coming here for many years and it improves every year as the add onto the trails and playgrounds. On the weekends there are even boat rentals for the lake which is a long standing practice and very nice to do with...
