EC Hair Salon — Attraction in North Miami Beach

I’m only writing this because it has happened more then 3 times. Before any process I get a quote first by Emerson. Last time I asked the price for FULL head highlights (ROOTS ONLY) and the price was between $260 and $280. I made the appointment, after we were done I got charged $330 for highlights + $60 for treatment (that no one told me had to pay extra) + $70 tip =$460. My hair in the back was BLACK like I did nothing. I went 2 months after to get highlights just HALF of my head. First, because I did not have time to be there too long. Second, cause last time did not make any difference doing my entire head. (And the funny thing is Emerson and everyone else told me that i should do FULL HEAD because I have not done my hair in God knows how long. So I told them it was 2 months ago now one believed me, they looked up my name to see if I was lying) So Emerson did my entire head without me asking. I asked him TWICE are you doing my entire head ? Because I only want HALF. He said: NO, only some highlights in the back so when you put your hair up it won’t look black. He was totally doing my entire head. So I thought to myself. This is so sweet he realized that he made a mistake last time and he wants to correct the mistake without let me know. So after 5 hours the young lady “in charge” of my hair at that point FORGOT to remove the foil and my hair ended up WHITE not gold. Also I told her to wash my hair normal (shampoo and conditioner) cause I had to go and she told me I had to do the treatment because the hair was damaged. I told her again I did not have time. And she said it was a must. So I understood that there was no way out of the $60 Treatmeant. My point is they should just say the price of the highlights with the treatment (cause apparently they can not wash the hair with a normal conditioner like in any other place). So here is the best part. I went to pay and they charge me for full head highlights. I told the receptionist there was a mistake and explained what happened. She went to ask Emerson wife or Emerson I don’t know and they said that they did my entire head and that was the price. So I paid $330 FULL head highlights + $60 treatment + $50 blow dry and $75 tip = $515 I really don’t think it’s fair. Very...

I’ve gone here a few times, Emerson always did a good job except for last time I went. Every single time I go in the morning, I wait for him for at least 45 minutes to an hour to get to work. Why make an appointment if you won’t be there? Never made sense. Also, the customer service is HORRIBLE. They leave you at the sink or in your chair for hourssssss, I mean, it’s insane! Last time I went in, I asked for a natural balayage but not super blonde, I showed pictures of how he had done it in the past and he said ok. When I was done 6 and a half hours later (no hair salon takes that long for this process) my hair was so damaged and dried from the amount of bleach he used because HE ENDED UP DOING FULL HEAD HIGHLIGHTS ????? IT LOOKED HORRIBLE. His wife Gisely, is beyond rude and snobby. I rescheduled my appointment 3 times for two reasons, because it’s one hour away from where I live and I suffer from vertigo which is randomly triggered and if I have vertigo I can’t drive at all anywhere much less an hour away. The 3rd time I tried to Reschedule she called me and yelled at me on the phone saying I’m lying and I can’t do this because people are on a waitlist. I understand all that, but to say I am lying and to SCREAM at me? It’s nobody’s business what my health problems are, when I reschedule I am very general as I am not friends with anybody here. I don’t know who these people think they are, but don’t go to them. It’s Miami people, there is soooo much better for a WAY better price, don’t think this is your only option. Oh, and when I left the salon with thick platinum blonde highlights (when I asked for balayage and I am brunette) I had to pay $416. I had to fix my hair a few weeks later (at another salon of course) where I paid $325 so in total I spent an ABSURD amount of money on my hair because EC Hair Salon doesn’t care about what their customers want, they just do what they want and charge what they want.
