This mall is really sad. It is falling apart and really runned down, I hear from many people this mall used to be really cool, fun and full of shops and people. Almost all the shops are closed. I used to come here when I was younger but now I never do. People smoke cigarettes in the mall and nobody stops them. The food really sucks from the one food place there, the escalators are usually out of order and the one to go up to marshalls is scary. The elevators are usually out of order too and the only thing saving this mall is probably the Ross and shoe stores. The AC was broken when i went last (about a week ago) so it was really hot inside. The water fountains has questionable water. There were no security guards in sight to report the smoking and when I did see em, they were on their phone or shopping. I hate going here because of how eery and sad this place is, I wish it would be saved but its pretty much an abandoned mall. There's garbage that gets swept up in a pile in the corner and gum stuck to the railings and pencil writing on the wall. Pretty sure no one is ever in the office because it looks like it's been closed for a while and the bathrooms are gross. I'm really hoping that this place could be repaired and revitalized because I live in the neighborhood and it'd be cool to have a mall where you...
Read moreI give it 4 stars because it could be better. One day a store pops up, another day it's gone and I know why. The mall is just dry. The dry area is where Marshalls is located. Inside that place you'll find Ross, Marshalls, different clothing stores, Jewelry store, GNC, name brand shoe stores like Footlocker, Cool J's. They also have Metro PCS. I warn to not have children/females go into the bathrooms by themselves. Matter of fact don't let anyone go by themselves. It is just a long hallway and the boys and girls bathrooms are next to each other. You can scream but I doubt anyone can hear you. Very scary. They do have security but they are usually sitting. It is dead but those stores aren't bad at all. Good customer service except for Ross (but what can you expect from Ross except long lines and attitude). I rarely go there. Now the other benefits that surround this particular area is: Banks, Home Depot, WalMart, Panda Express and plaza which includes Game Stop and other stores. Literally 2min away from IHop, 10min away from Biscayne US1...and 10min away from the main highway. Not a bad spot but they need something to help just that area I...
Read moreI'm giving the mall 5stars but I'm going back in time. Around 1986/87. This mall was the "it place" to be as a teenager. Burdines, Jordan Marsh, Woolworth, Tom McCann shoe store and a host of other stores. Upstairs near the food court in thw corner was the game room. I'm dating myself for sure. It was an awesome place to hang out. I remember coming through there from junior high school, (John F. Kennedy Jr. high) and I always pass through the mall heading home from school. This crazy lady was running up the stairs heading to the food court and she's yelling something. Years later I was watching this movie "Making Mr. Right" to my amazement, I just so happened to walk in the mall when they were filming that specific scene. It was surreal. I jumped off my couch and said I WAS THERE!!!! I REMEMBER THIS!! If you want to see the mall at 163rd at its prime and glory, watch that movie and you will see what I'm talking about. It's sad to see it as a shell of itself, but it holds a lot of great memories me. The white tarp or roofing was iconic for a mall back...
