Panda Express was founded by Master Chef Ming Tsai Cherng, his son Andrew, and Andrew's wife Peggy. Andrew and his father first entered the restaurant business together when they opened a Panda Inn in 1973. Ten years later Panda Express launched as a fast food version of Panda Inn. The famous orange chicken was said to have been developed by Chef Andy Kao at a Panda Express in Hawaii in 1987. At first Panda Express was only found at mall food courts but in the 80's and 90's they started franchising out to stand alone restaurants. Panda express is now available internationally and it is the largest chain of fast food restaurants serving American Chinese cuisine in the Unites States.
Looking to grab a quick meal while in Miami I ended up this Panda Express. My pet peeve about this chain is that they never have all of the food ready at the same time. You are usually stuck waiting for something to finish cooking. I did notice that this restaurant looked very clean and bright and I do like that they have low carb and vegetarian options in addition to a their many meat dishes. Even picky eaters can find something to eat. I usually order the low mein for my side with the orange chicken and honey walnut shrimp but this time I had the beef and broccoli on the mixed vegetables for a low carb dinner. As far as fast food goes at least you can get something relatively...
Read moreToday I ate at this Panda Express for lunch for the first time and received no welcome or customer service. My issue started when I asked for three refresher drinks without ice. The front desk employee rudely said they had to come with ice. I asked why, and she said it was Panda Express policy. I asked for a manager, and she called someone who was serving, with no badge or identification indicating they were a manager. I again requested drinks without ice, but she said the same thing—it had to be with ice because of Panda Express policy. I said that other Panda Express locations had given me drinks without ice without a problem. She told me that if I didn't like it, I could get a fountain drink. To avoid escalating the situation, I asked for a fountain drink, but their customer service was horrible afterward. They started speaking in another language I didn't understand; they might have been speaking badly about me and my friend, but I made no assumptions. However, it was very rude. I called corporate to complain about this issue.
No ask for donation, not happy person, if they hate their job might as well not work there.
I hope this gets resolved; there are better people out there who need a job and have better customer...
Read morePlaced order online a few minutes after 10pm, arrive at 10:17pm to pick up my order that should have been ready by 10:20 according to the online ordering system. The cashier looks for the order and asks several employees. So at this point I'm waiting for them to find an order that is not only NOT EVEN put together and packed, but 3 of the items are not even available. The store is basically 95% packed up and nearly none of the entrees are out and the last customers are being served. It states online that the location is open til 11pm. Now I'm still waiting in the store (over 20min) while writing this letter because they are having an issue processing a refund. Even the employees that are cleaning up and getting ready to leave are asking, are you waiting for something, to which I explain, I'm STILL waiting for a refund. SERIOUSLY?!? Is this the customer service expected when placing online orders? Drove here for nothing just to waste time, gas, and basically leave without the meal I ordered. If you can't service online orders after a certain time, it should be CLEARLY STATED on the online ordering system....
