Just got married to my now husband there this past weekend. The Ancient Monastery was a dream come true for my husband and I. Father Gregory was attentive, incredibly kind and has wonderful witty humor that made our wedding day truly special. The ceremony was in Spanish (can also do it in English) and he made sure to include every detail. The venue is magical and it’s European history completely breath taking. The musical director Frank Perco III was also great! He played the piano live during ceremony and cocktail reception which simply made the ambiance complete. Unfortunately I can’t say the same about the wedding coordinator, she never answered my calls and we received very poor treatment even on our wedding day for no reason after discussing everything multiple times in person during two walk throughs and several calls. I suggest getting a wedding planner for day of so that the bride and groom do not have to deal with all the last minute details and the wedding coordinator. Other than that everything was all we hoped it would be. Also MOLMAR EVENT RENTAL is a must! The professionalism was elite! Ask for Luis and Aura!

My husband and I were married at the Ancient Spanish Monastery on May 4th, 2014. I had dreamed of my wedding for a while, something that would be elegant and elaborate. A beautiful garden filled with family and friends. The Ancient Spanish Monastery fit (actually exceeded) my dream wedding venue perfectly! From the minute we stepped on to visit I knew this was the place. It had a quiet, tender, charming and inviting feeling to it and something just pulled me in. I realized much later that St. Bernard of Clairvaux was the reason. My father and I have a deep passion for Beekeeping and St. Bernard of Clairvaux is the Patron Saint of Beekeepers. How fitting! We chose the Loggia Garden for our ceremony and the Inner Courtyard for our reception space. I absolutely loved the fact that we had different event spaces but with a cohesive feeling (and we didn't have to go to a different location!). Both of our families loved the location and still talk about how unique and beautiful our wedding was! I 100% recommend the ASM if you are looking for a place with old world charm, romance and is spectacular for wedding photography!

The Ancient Spanish Monastery. North Miami Beach, FL Construction of the Monastery of St. Bernard de Clairvaux was begun in the year 1133 AD in Sacramenia, near Segovia in northern Spain. In 1925, William Randolph Hearst purchased the Cloisters and the Monastery's outbuildings. The structures were dismantled stone by stone, bound with protective hay, packed in more than 11,000 wooden crates, numbered for identification and shipped to the United States. Soon after the shipment arrived, Hearst's financial problems forced most of his collection to be sold at auction. In 1964, Colonel Robert Pentland, Jr, who was a multimillionaire banker, philanthropist and benefactor of many Episcopal churches, purchased the Cloisters and presented them to the Bishop of Florida. Today the parish Church of St. Bernard de Clairvaux is an active and growing congregation in the Episcopal Diocese of Southeast Florida. Services are held on Sundays and weekdays in both English and Spanish.
