We stayed in room 939, and at first glance, my reaction was that it was dated and needed some new decor but never-ending that....you get what you pay for. So what i do believe that we did pay for is a pot to cook in. Our room had 3 frying pans. One very small strainer and some very basic cooking utensils. However, there was not one pot to cook in. As for the resort, They have plenty of water attractions for all ages, the lazy pool seems to be a big hit with the kids. There are plenty of indoor and outdoor water attractions for each building, and there are three buildings on the property. Check-in was painless. However, we did check in right at 4 o'clock, so it was very hard to find a luggage cart. After we did manage to find a luggage cart 45 minutes so late we had a very hard time getting on the elevator. There were many families trying to get on the elevator at the same time with luggage carts, which caused us to wait another twenty minutes or so. During this time, there was one elevator not working, so that left us with two working elevators in our building. It was working later that day, though. There are 3 places to eat on the property. First, I will say that the sand trap grill has great food. Highly recommend the mexicorn and the fried green tomato and bacon sandwich. Next was the tiki hut bar, which was nice outdoor seating, which is also where they do any live music. On the point of music, they only had live music on sunday afternoon from 1 to 4. It was one single man who sang a country variety, and he was pretty good. They had a kid's night where they had people dance, play music, give out things to the kids, and some other small activities. It looked perfect for kids 5 to maybe thirteen. The last restaurant to talk about is supposed to be a breakfast buffet. Which is attached to the nicest dining option they offer, however they are only open Thursday through Saturday. And I thought that was very strange considering the busy time of the year. They also have a small gift shop that has some very basic necessities, such as salt and pepper shakers, as they were not provided in our room. This gift shop is open from 9 to 9 7 days a week. They have some really good ice cream in there. This is a strict, no smoking property, not even out on your balcony. If you want a chair pool side You better go early. Also, if you plan to rent an umbrella in chairs from the beach, there is a couple that offers a three day deal for a very reasonable price. These people are set up right in front of the resort on the beach. Cost is significantly less than renting them from myrtle Beach. The elevators can be a bit slow at times, and that includes the elevator for the parking deck. I would also like to note that several times during our 5 days of stay. Many different things were broken in the hotel, such as two different elevators, the code to the gate to re-enter the resort from the beach. Overall, I would give this place a 7.5 out of 10 In the end I will say we were told by others that stayed there that it depended on who owned the unit as to whether or not it had any upgrades. Hour place did not have any upgrades and seemed to be owned by an individual who almost never visits the place to see what the condition of it is. I do know that some of the other condos offered hardwoods throughout and nicer appliances.Etc. Again you get what you pay for.

AFFORDABLE oceanfront beach resort. Decent price for a 3day extended family gathering..Buildings and decor is dated but provided what we needed. The restaurants close to early for weekend late family fellowship..Recommend for the value and location!

I booked my stay at Baywatch Resort thru Condo World. I stayed in unit 1237 which was in tower 3 (the tower closest to the parking garage). The condo was as described 3 bedrooms (2 king beds, 2 queen beds), full kitchen, 2 bathrooms, and glorious ocean view. My first impression of the resort was of the parking garage. The parking garage had plenty of spaces, however it was very difficult to mauver past other vehicles and negotiating the tuns without a collision was not easy. The mirrors at the turns were dirty and hard to see anything in. Some mirrors were pointed in the wrong direction and others wee missing. I witnessed a lady scrape the side of her Lincoln on one of the columns in the parking garage trying to get past a car coming the other direction. She did some damage to her vehicle, it wasn’t pretty. I was driving an F-150 and found it best to park at the top level of the parking garage, there seemed like more room at that level for a larger vehicle, just a tip. My second impression was getting my luggage to the condo. There were no luggage carts available and there were so many people checking in that there was a 20-minute wait to use the elevators. I managed to get my hands on a luggage cart after some time and after several trips to my truck I got everything in the room after just over 1 hour. I’m not sure why there is no path from the parking garage to the adjacent tower, it seems like this would cut down on elevator usage. Instead, you must use the elevator in the parking garage then the elevator in the tower you are staying in. After getting everything to my condo I noticed that the condo was not very clean, it was picked up but not clean. I found 2 socks and a pair of underwear left from the previous guests on the floor. There was sand everywhere, to be expected, I guess. One of the toilets didn’t work. I called the Condo World maintenance to fix it and they did later that day, this was not really an issue and a testament to Condo World. The power went out 2 times during out stay which has never happened before at any other resorts I’ve stayed at. I won’t get to into details about the condo. I have a Condo World review that speaks to it. The resort had a restaurant, gift shop, ice cream shop, tiki bar, fitness center. I didn’t partake in these so can’t speak to much about them, they seemed nice at a glance. I did use the pools, all 16 of the water amenities. The pools were nice, 5 foot were the deepest pools. The water amenities all were cleaned daily, I witnessed them being cleaned out each morning. The hot tubs were nice however it seemed the jets were not configured right. They were pointed straight up and the water shot up at your face the whole time. The lazy rivers were nice but there didn’t seem to be enough tubes for both. The beach was clean, and the lifeguards were on duty which made you feel safe. My mother-in-law uses a scooter to get around. I found that the resort was not very handy cap accessible in some locations. To get from the parking garage to the resort you exist the parking garage elevators and have to cross the street to the resort. To walk this is not problem you just walk over the curbs on the street to the entrance. If you are on a scooter or wheelchair you must go around the curbs to the ramp on the side of the entrance way. I think a depression in the curbs would avoid this detour., it’s not a huge deal but an inconvenience for sure. I feel I need to speak to the condition of the resort. The resort seemed run down and just lacking maintenance. Everything was working for the most part except for an elevator in tower 3 that broke down several time during our stay. It just seemed like the buildings were just being kept to a standard of good enough to keep running. It didn’t seem like the resort wanted to put any money into the buildings. Everything seemed old and needing of a renovation. Overall Baywatch Resort is a good family friendly place to stay. If I got a good deal on another condo there I would most...

We stayed in a privately owned condo at the Baywatch so I cannot speak to the rooms that are managed by the resort. Since this was our first ever trip to MB/NMB we didn't know this was both a privately owned/managed property AND a value hotel. Had I known I was paying premium prices for our condo while also in a hotel with $100/night rooms, I would have made a different choice. That said, this review is only speaking to the accommodations available to the general guest population.

Location is right on the beach. Ocean access from the pool deck, or from a small public parking lot next to tower one. Beach life guards on duty from 9a-5p. Be sure to check ocean conditions and safety recommendations if visiting the beach outside of this timeframe as there are no indicators on the beach after the lifeguards have clocked out for the day.

The lobby, restaurant, and bar are all updated and nice. They have a decent menu, and you can order food from your room. The bartender, Sherri, is excellent! Very personable, and friendly. All staff that I encountered was friendly and helpful. The teenagers working in the ice cream shop were also very nice when we came in very close to closing time. They didn't make us feel like it was a bother or an inconvenience to them being so late.

The elevators in Tower One also appeared to be newly updated, and were spacious. They had 3 cars, and they were operational all week.

There is NO pool lifeguard, and no monitoring of the pool area. A lot of parents are oblivious, or no where near their kids, so be prepared to share space with these guests.

I did see the pools being cleaned in the mornings from our balcony, but by the end of the day they were scummy with sunscreen and hair. A floating oil sponge is probably a good idea if regular cleanings aren't going to happen.

There is almost NO security at this place. Tower doors at the street level are open 24/7. I saw one, single security guard each day we were there, and usually only in the afternoon. Wrist bands are supposed to be utilized for resort guests, and it was about 50/50 on people wearing them. When the security guard did check, every single visitor said, "I've been here all week and no one has asked to see it."

No smoking signs are posted everywhere directing guests to areas in the front of the resort, but with no one to enforce them, plenty of people are palming their cigs at the pool, and blowing their disgusting smoke all over the deck or off their balcony.

They have a decent work-out room, but most of the time teenagers were in there messing with the equipment, not utilizing it as intended. Again, no one is monitoring anything.

Had I known that this was a value resort, we would have never booked it. If that's not something that matters to you, or if you're looking for a bed at the beach, then I think this property will probably be just fine.

Local finds I DO recommend:

  1. Groceries from Kroger. We have Kroger at home, and I did a pick-up order for Sunday morning after we arrived. We also ran back a few times during the trip for odd-and-ends, so it was nice to have one so close by.
  2. Bookends Bookstore. A cute little used book store near Kroger.
  3. HotStacks for breakfast. We went here before our grocery pick-up time, and they portions were huge!
  4. Bar-B-Que House. Excellent menu and sauces on the table. Sad they didn't have banana pudding the day we went, but everything else was delicious
  5. Horst Gasthaus. Authentic German food and big beers!
  6. Don Chemas Mexican had THE best...
