Mardi Gras Cake & Candy Supplies — Attraction in North Olmsted

I have to share my review finally because a) I find it laughable that most one star reviews gets a "It was you, not me" response from the owner. And b) my last (not last as in ever again because keep reading) was the straw that broke the camels back. So now I have to share... I go there out of convenience and thank gawd I don't have to go often. These people that are leaving 5 star reviews HAVE to be family, friends (which I find hard to believe that she has any), or people that have to shop there because there are like THREE cake and candy supply stores in this area. Hence the reason they have been around for so long. If there were one in every city, she would've been out of business LONG ago. I give it to her that her store is well stocked, clean and organized. However, she is literally the rudest, most unfriendly person I've ever dealt with. So my last experience with this shop that is really prompting this review; is that she almost had my 16 year old daughter in tears. I should've never sent her in. My daughter has a little bit of social anxiety, but she's growing out of it. This woman was so rude for no reason that she almost set her back five years! She's obviously a kid and asked a simple question. Lady treated her as if she were the dumbest person on the planet. I will continue to go there out of convenience, but I've made it my mission to be EXTRA, OVERLY friendly when I go in. Only because I'm sure it pisses her off even more to not be able to bully and rattle someone. If I can and have time, I will go to Sweet Connections in Middleburg Heights. NIGHT AND DAY!! I have once again been reading reviews. Like the one woman said “ The 5 star reviews have to be someone owner is familiar with or has a thick skin. But she said for convenience she will continue to shop there.” That is how I have felt last 10 yrs. I will give store owner credit, its a very clean, well stocked store. So I continued to go there for supplies, in spite of the owners snarky personality. Well 5 mos. ago, I had had enough of her rudeness. I was in the store alone with her, lets just say it was unpleasant for both of us. She explained to me after I made the comment she should do some soul searching after reading the negative reviews on how rude she is, her reply “ they are all lies.”. Either there are 2 different owners (1 very pleasant and 1 very rude) or an owner with multiple personalities. All reviews are either a 5 star or a 1 star (?). Unfortunately, my experience was a 1 star. It’s been awhile since I’ve been to this store due to a bad experience but I felt it important to share my experience. When I went with my aunt to the store, the lady who worked there was abrupt and unpleasant. Since the store offered a nice variety of items, my aunt decided to return to see if she would have a different experience. It was far worse. She had forgotten her driver’s license at home with her phone, but had her wallet with her (and her name on all of the other cards). When she attempted to pay by credit card, the employee gave her an extremely hard time for not having her license. She said that my aunt could have stolen all the other cards in her wallet.
