My daughter and I visited for a late lunch on Thursday March 20th for the 1st time and to say it was exceptional is an understatement. Greeks and Armenians (which we are) share a common approach to our food and not many Greek restaurants do Greek food justice. Pontos Taverna did! We had Avgolemono soup which was perfect! Just the right amount of lemon and brought me RIGHT BACK to my childhood! We then had the Dolmades and for something that wasn't prepared on-site, it was really quite good. We also had the Melitzanosalata (eggplant) dip which my daughter LOVED. In addition, we had Xoriatiki and Pantzaria and the latter was EXACTLY the way beets should be! The Greek salad was also very very good! We also had the Xtapodi (octopus) and we enjoyed it immensely. I prefer mine just grilled but my daughter loved the lemony brine it was in. We also had the pork and chicken Souvlaki (a la carte) so we could taste it. It's best if eaten nice and hot.. The grilled flavor was unmistakable. We also ordered the Paidakia and it was OUT OF THIS WORLD! I will not post the video of my daughter's reaction when she took her 1st bite. It was superb and I don't say that lightly. Truly exceptional. We also ordered the tiramisu and pakhlava and found the tiramisu to be quite good even in comparison to Italian bakeries. The pakhlava was also good, thicker than we're used to, and not as much syrup but for me that was perfectly fine. We usually have it slathered in honey/syrup. Suffice it so say, we took ALOT of food home for family and friends to taste as we live quite a distance away but hope we can return as a group to enjoy the bounties of this amazing restaurant. We had such an amazing chat with the young lady who's been there for 10 years. She gave such a thorough and heart-warming history of the paintings, the family, the patriarch of the family who passed away in the last 5 years (our deepest sympathies) and all of the children and grand-children and staff who have been with this amazing establishment for many, many years. Yes, the parking is not optimal but parking on the main street is an option (before turning on Isaacs Street), which is what we did. We WILL return and HIGHLY recommend it to all our Greek, Armenian and non-Mediterranean friends who hail from areas outside of Norwalk. You will NOT be disappointed. We guarantee it! Thank you again!!!

This is a generous 4. Service was ok. I asked for hot water but never got it. Food was tasty but not creative. I was hoping to see some grilled vegetables in the plate. It was just meat meat meat and two leaves of letus dipped in oil. Have a look for yourself. Also, we ended up waiting a bit longer than normal for the food and only 2 minutes before the main food arrives we were asked if we would care for some bread?? Im not here for sight seeing, ....
