Overall: 5 out of 5
I've been to countless boba stops over the years, from Houston, NYC, to LA, and for the first time, this boba shop is more than great boba; it's a movement to make humans flourish. I'll go into more details below.
Pros: Simple menu Boba is fresh + chewy Branding (more later) Friendly + helpful staff Order in advance Tons of parking Lively area Add-ons (e.g., aloe vera)
Side Notes: Ask for sweetness suggestions The top 10 drinks are all great You can adjust ice - just ask Hot spot - tons of people "Krak in a bag" :)
What We Got: King Brûlée Dragon Slayer Taro Twist + Crush Jasmine Green Milk Tea Krak Signature Milk Tea
What We Loved:
Design: Being creative, every last bit of this boba shop was impressive. Each boba drink has a positive message on top and aligns beautifully with the organization's messaging (courage, service, and joy). Check out the artwork when you come in and see what you notice, as the branding is incredible. Having a brand that embraces community and this idea of "KRAK-ing" your best version makes the boba more than what it is. Try to guess the logo and the inspiration behind it :).
Drinks: The Taro has been a recipe in the founder's family for decades. When you drink the Twist or the Crush, you'll know why. Secondly, those boba balls are made in such a way you know they are not cutting corners because the consistency and taste are damn near perfect. The staff suggested making the Dragon Slayer with less sugar, and we added aloe and the natural sugars were perfect. Everyone has their style, so have at it! You can order in advance for a pickup, curbside, or delivery, or even "Krak in a bag," which is Krak tea to go home and share in a larger quantity (limited flavors - check out their website).
Staff: We were humbled enough to meet the founder, and they gave us a tour. They have many locations; seeing him in the story, talking to customers, learning, and asking questions was incredible. Businesses rarely take feedback and continuously improve, but these founders differ. It's so easy to support loving companies that are more than people who take money and give you a subpar product/service. They rise above it at Krak Boba!
Opportunities To Improve:
Open one in Austin, Texas. Hahahaha. Talking to one of the founders mentioned that their quality control ensures each employee gives a 9 out of 10 rating for everything they push out. If not, they are more critical than the customers regarding quality. It's incredible how much care.
Summary:
It's one of my favorite brands with a purpose. I can't wait to try the entire menu one day, as everything has been so (insert expletive) addicting, lol. Aside from having a stellar product, caring about community, belonging, and helping people flourish just a bit more each day is why I mentioned it's more than a "boba company." An ethos is embedded in every location that wants to see the world live to its full potential without judgment or social pressure. Cheers to that.
Beautiful job,...
Read moreTwo of the blandest boba drinks I've ever had. Charging 7 dollars for low-quality matcha that was prepared poorly is absolutely insane, especially in Norwalk. The drinks certainly looked nice, but save your money and go to a better boba shop. Not quite sure why this place has good reviews. Boba had no flavor and poor texture.
Service was poor, took about 3 minutes for the worker to come out from the back (understaffed?) to work on my online order. One would expect an online order to be ready by the time one arrived in ten minutes, but that was not the case here.
Shop was messy, with straw wrappers scattered on the tables and floors.
Will not be returning to any krak Boba and will be sure to advise friends and family...
Read moreThe employees and service were great! However, we got two drinks, a guerilla Thai and a taro boba drink. The taro was really powdery tasting and really wasn’t pleasant. The guerilla Thai was good flavor but it was supposed to be a slush and idk if they didn’t use enough ice or something but it tasted like a regular drink. It wasn’t very slushy. A little underwhelming. The boba itself isn’t the best boba I’ve had. I love when the boba is really flavorful but these tasted really plain. Also, they didn’t have the mochi donuts I was looking forward to getting. Their machine was broken so next time I’ll just go to mochinut and/or call before going to see if...
