I will never come in this store again. Look at the other one star reviews. Most of them are recent. This store has changed. It used to be a convenient place to make a print last minute when you run out of ink or your printer is broke. There used to be good people who would print stuff out for you. Now they have a very trashy crew working.
My mother used the computer to print something out and was charged nearly $5. Note, she had to use the computer as there was nobody working by prints to instruct her. When she questioned the charged, they told her it was for computer time. She only used the computer to print out the copy from her email. It’s not like she was surfing. All the same, I ran to the restroom after a female employee told my mom she would look at her receipt and admitted she was overcharged. I came back to this short Hispanic man who claimed to be the manager threatening my mom with police and telling her she was no longer welcome in the store that the charges were legit. My mom said she could get prints at the library for free and she wouldn’t be coming back. He rudely retorted, “Good we don’t want you back.”
Then, when they saw I was with my mother, they start screaming at me bad mouthing my mother to me telling me to tell her she was so longer welcome. This was humiliating for me as I am an attorney in the community and people all over know me. The female employee was a Caucasian girl who talked in a fake Spanish accent and acted like somebody from the old Jerry Springer show kept screaming that she was going to call police. Why will they call police? Because somebody disputed being charged a crazy amount of money for one print? It’s not even about the money, but the principle. About that female employee, I didn’t think women like her existed after 2006. I decided to try to talk some sense to the manager guy and tell him he would be mad too if he were charged so much money for one print. After I calmed things down between them and my mom left the store, he agreed to refund me for the computer time. I told him she didn’t know about the computer time and there was no sign. He kept justifying saying she agreed to terms when she logged in. He proceeded to bad mouth my mother to me. Whether he thinks my mom was right or wrong, that’s my mother and I don’t appreciate that. It’s like he wanted me to admit my mom was wrong. Sorry, but he is the one who escalated things. He started saying she was going crazy over a few dollars.
After he refunded me, I politely asked him for his name and the name of the store manager. He refused saying he could not because my mom has “malice,” so then I told him he is actually the one going nuts for a few dollars because he could have made an exception and just told her to be aware of the charges next time. I also made sure to tell him he was raised terribly for being so incredibly rude to an older woman who didn’t understand how to use their printing system. Note, this new system they have is new. Previously the employees did prints for you if you emailed them your document.
This guy was really out of control and I never experienced somebody so unjust. Their corporate care very little. I was a customer for years. I will never return here. Anybody, stores like Staples are on their way out. People do not use many office supplies anymore. People who need to buy computers do so either from Apple or a store like Best Buy or online. They should be thankful for every customer they get and try their hardest to be reasonable.
P.S. It’s crazy you also have to ask them for a code to use the restroom. Never saw such a thing in a large store. This manager had no morals or sense of decency. He was happy to just mess with an older woman and try to be on...
Read moreI originally went to Fedex Office and was so frustrated and upset by the experience that I left that store crying and decided to go to Staples instead for my printing needs.
Immediately upon arriving I was greeted and noticed the two staff members working in the printing area were friendly and kind to the customers they were helping (Anthony and Alina were the two staff members working when I was there).
I was having trouble emailing the file to them because of how large it was and they were both helpful and patient while we tried different options and eventually they were able to download it to print. Anthony did the actual printing, laminating and binding for me. He was knowledgeable about the paper, careful to do it to my specifications, and was just an overall joy to work with because of how friendly he was. Alina and Anthony both seemed to care about providing not just good products but good customer service as well.
I'm very pleased with the outcome of my project. It was a little more expensive than what it would have cost at Fedex Office but the experience was stellar, even with the store being rather busy, and that is worth the extra couple of dollars I spent. It really turned my afternoon around after the terrible experience I had at their competitor. Will definitely be going to them first in the future for any print projects...
Read moreWent into Staples to grab a few items for my classroom. The guys there are petty, unfriendly, and not helpful. I grabbed several 2 pocket folders at .25 cents each. Although the sign in the store clearly say, price match 100% guaranteed, when I showed the cashier the Target 2 pocket folders at .15 cents each, the cashier didn’t not honor it. I ask for the manager . I see him talking to his drab manager , who looks over at me. Manager came to the register and asked me , “ How can I help you?” I looked at him and said “The cashier just told you what the problem is…….” I told him that Target has the same 2 pocket folders for 10 cents less. He goes on to tell me he can’t match the price, despite the big , clear poster that claims they price match 100% guaranteed. I wish I had taken these clowns names , instead, I just walk right out leaving everything on the conveyor belt.
I went right over to Target got everything I need with another 30% discount! Stores like Staples are cheap with ignorant workers . They barely want to offer discounts to anyone. I never really cared for stores like this. I’m going to keep taking my business to Target , where I am respected!
The workers at Staples are unfriendly and with attitudes like what I saw today, they will be going bankrupt, due to no business! BIG THUMBS DOWN to the Staples at the...
