I recently visited the Potbelly Sandwich Shop at this location, and overall, it's a nice place. The staff is extremely friendly, always greeting customers with a smile, and the store is consistently clean and well-maintained.
However, I had an experience that left me quite surprised. I purchased a turkey sandwich, which is usually a reliable choice. To my dismay, the sandwich came with tomatoes that were hard and included the core, or stem scar, which made them difficult to eat. I was quite taken aback by this, as I didn't expect such an oversight in the preparation of my sandwich.
Despite attempting to eat it, the tomatoes were simply too hard, and it affected the overall enjoyment of the sandwich. I was very surprised and disappointed that such a garnishment was placed on my sandwich. Additional notes from a visit I made yesterday giving this location. Another chance. Review of Potbelly's: A Disappointing Lunch Experience
updated 7/19/24
I re-visited this Potbelly's, a place I've frequented since childhood when they started across from Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago. Yesterday, I decided to try their new lunch plan, which consists of a sandwich, a drink, and a bag of chips. I added a cup of chili, expecting a reasonably tasteful meal. Unfortunately, what seemed like an economic value turned out to be a mathematical bait and switch.
Upon ordering the meal and paying close to $17, I experienced sticker shock. Sitting down at the table, I realized I had received an extremely small sandwich that was poorly made and didn't taste good. When I confronted the counter, they informed me that the meal deal included a skinny sandwich. "Skinny" is an understatement for what I received.
Adding to my disappointment, when I opened the bag of chips, I found that only 25% of the bag was full; the rest was just air. For $17, this felt more like a kids' meal than a meal suitable for an adult.
In addition, the chart they show you is deceiving. It displays images of the skinny sandwich, the regular size sandwich, and the large sandwich. This leads customers to believe they are getting more than just a quarter of a sandwich. When I went back to the counter to ask what was going on, they had no explanation. This bait-and-switch tactic is extremely misleading and unfair to consumers.
In short, the quality of food for the price point is definitely not worth it. The sandwich was subpar, and the value was disappointing. I understand that the economy is rough, but charging this much for a poor-quality meal feels like a money grab.
Moreover, the staff at this location was unfriendly and dismissive when I raised my concerns, essentially telling me to take it or leave it. Moving forward, I'll be searching elsewhere for a sandwich. For what they charge for this skimpy meal, I could probably have a better quality meal...
Read morei’m sorry i don’t usually bother to leave 1 star reviews but for this Potbelly, I had to. My brother who lives a couple of hours away visited town was craving Potbelly, so we headed there around 7pm. After thinking that nothing to worry about since they close at 10pm, they just decided to close!
Also, L customer service. I’d go here for years since it’s only 10-15 minutes away from where I live, and EVERYTIME the staff always got something up with them. They always make me feel incredibly unwelcome while serving me and for the customers to get out ASAP. The guy workers are always so professional and polite, but the girls at the time I came always feel the need to spread their unhappiness and negativity to me. One girl gave me my mushrooms after like 10 minutes without eye contact and literally didn’t say a word to me. Another girl glared at me and asked me why i’m still there when all i was wondering was where my peppers on the side were. I get not wanting to get in trouble but come on, at that point, it doesn’t even taste good because there is no hospitality, love, or quality service. I’d like to think that not all the girls are bad of course but might as well eat subway or not eat at all than get treated with trash customer service by adolescence girl workers. Thank you!
Hey i kinda feel bad for leaving this review so i gave three more stars & just want to wish the two girl servers who made me feel like bad for literally going to & ordering Potbelly’s at this Potbelly’s that i hope you found a job that you like more and doesn’t make you feel the need to ruin a customers day for being hungry haha cheers. Go Potbelly’s always and thank you because when you eat their sandwiches right after purchasing them they are tastier than Subway’s~ 11/10 would come again &...
Read moreWe have had some really great service here and some not so great service here.
We usually order the Wreck, but, came here recently to try the turducken sandwich (available for a limited time, I believe until the end of the year). A sandwich that consists of turkey, duck, and chicken with cornbread stuffing, topped with cheddar (you can substitute provolone or swiss) cranberry honey sauce, mayo and italian seasoning (640 colories).
The sandwich itself was very tasty, mainly because of the cranberry honey sauce, the meat was sparce and I could not honestly taste any of the turkey, duck or chicken. I even asked for the dressing to be light so I could enjoy the meat combination, but sadly, I didn't.
Service was slow and the location was relatively empty.
After I paid, I noticed a chalkboard sign that said buy 1 sandwich get 1 cookie free. Minimum 20 S. I asked the cashier how come I didn't get my free cookie and she at first didn't know what I was talking about, I pointed out the sign and she then said it didn't start yet although the sign clearly said from 11/1/18 to 12/31/18. She then said it was a minimum of 20 sandwiches, not 20 dollars. I told her that the sign was misleading and she agreed. She asked the manager and she gave me a free cookie, I told here that she should change the sign.
Potbelly is a relatively healthy alternative to fast food chains and ingredients are...
