🚨DOUBLE CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS FOR CORRECT SERVICES🚨

Overcharged, rushed and up-selled.

Wanted gel polish on my hands, but the technician insisted I do dip powder.

Then I told the technician I wanted regular polish on my feet, but she insisted I do gel.

I asked for, and was charged on my receipt for a basic pedicure, but somehow I got charged for a botanical pedicure? (when I was very clear about wanting a basic since I was adding the paraffin treatment).

Overall, the service was rushed. It felt like a whirlwind, and the technician was finishing to get done ‘for time’, when there was hardly anyone there, and I was really looking forward to a nice relaxing treatment after a long week— intentionally scheduling my appointment at a slow time during a week night.

*Bottom line: my receipt did not reflect service prices, or services I was charged for. This is fraud in my opinion. My receipt states I received services at prices that were inaccurate and incorrect services.

When I called the next day to ask for clarification, thinking I must have gotten overcharged and would like a credit for the next time I am in, the manager did not give me a breakdown of services & prices, but said, “the receipt I had did not reflect my service prices, and I was charged correctly what Vanny hand wrote on the back of the ticket.” 🤔

I initially accepted this answer, but after I got off the phone and added up the prices individually listed on the website with what I had, it still didn’t add up. So reluctantly, I called one more time to clarify with Randy, the manager, and he literally answers the phone with a rude, “we’ve already been through this”?! 🤯😳

They must have caller ID, but I actually could not believe this “greeting” when up to this point, I had been so kind and patient, seeking to understand out of principle if this was just a miscommunication— not actually caring about a measly $20.

Honestly, all of this could have been avoided if my receipt reflected the charges I was charged for with the correct services— or if Randy had given me a proper breakdown for the services/prices the first time I called— but the rudeness and scamming I now am certain of, is why I’m leaving a one star review.

I will be taking my loyal business to a place of appreciation, integrity and...

This location is my go-to if the Hyde Park location is booked and packed. I was a loyal customer of Ambiance when they only had one location before expanding. Since I am a loyal customer and a huge supporter of their brand, I will book services at the Oakley location whenever I am in town.

I want to truly thank Kristie for helping me in my dire situation. I needed a nail repair before going to an event in Dayton, so I flew into CVG from DC when I discovered that my natural nail needed immediate repair.

I went to the Oakley location since it was close to the gym to book a nail repair appointment. The receptionist was extremely rude and refused to service me because I didn’t receive service from their location. Please keep in mind that I am a paying customer. I wasn’t asking for a free service. I felt her overall stand was demeaning and offensive.

I asked if she could see if Hyde Park or Rookwood would accept walk-in appointments for nail repair. She immediately responded that they are private businesses and not affiliated with the brand or company. I left the salon and contacted the Rookwood location.

I informed Kristie about my recent experience and vented my frustration. She took great care of me despite the inconvenience of having to go to another location.

She booked me with Henri, and he resolved my issue swiftly to keep me within my hard deadline. I am writing this review for three reasons. The first is for the CEO/COO to admonish the receptionist for her terrible attitude and customer service, as she hurts your brand and business. Please take heed as businesses succumbed due to their lack of success in customer service. The bottom line is that you take care of your customers, and they take care of you. I appreciate you following up with me privately. Thank you.

Secondly, I am informing all mass media outlets to caution customers, especially minorities, that we no longer have to stand silently with mistreatment in any arena. Therefore, we will stand silently with our money. We, too, are a force to be reckoned with.

Lastly, thank you, Kristie, at Rookwood for your superior customer service and for taking complete ownership of the situation to salvage the relationship I have built with...

I like to wait until it’s been 2-3 weeks post service to give my full analysis. I’ve been to and reviewed about all of the ambiance locations and this one is my least favorite and I was actually surprised because of the area it’s in. So let’s start with the Pros

Got in right away I arrived early and they seated me early

They have a bar can’t go wrong with that

Tim did my nails and he did a pretty decent job shape was perfect medium stiletto nails but I’ll touch on this in the cons as well

Staff was friendly Tim went above and beyond to make up the color I wanted

The CONS

Like all Ambiance locations they seem to Never have white sparkle gel Polish in stock so Tim and I had to go through a lot to find something I would like all the locations really need to have extras of the sparkle blend gels even black is always out.

My nails did not last until my fill in. I’ve never had a basic set I paid over $80 for them to lift before my fill in from any location but this one very disappointing. I’ve waited a month and still never lifted for other locations and I gave a $20 tip for them to look like this.

Aiden did my feet first thing I had to ask him to turn on the bubbles I was given a faulty chair I really only like the Finneytown location chairs all the other chairs at the other locations seem to have faults in them. He pretty much rushed through a $90 Royal botanical pedicure. I’ve never had it done so fast and my legs didn’t feel relaxed at all the hot stones were warm. He didn’t do all the stuff the other locations do I just didn’t really enjoy myself but he painted them pretty decent even though I wasn’t a fan of the colors not his fault I worked with what they had and I still tipped decent because that’s who I am

All in all I won’t be returning to this location Finneytown and Oakley so far are my favorite two but I have more...

Okay. Prepare to read. I’m in a wedding tomorrow and have no nails to speak of. I’ve only had my nails done maybe twice in my life, and I’m 25. I knew I needed acrylic but I hate the feel of it. When I arrived, the receptionist was real short with me. I told her I had an appointment and gave her my name, she points to her left and says “pick a color, he’ll be with you in a few minutes”. I followed her direction. Thomas came to me not even five minutes later and led me to his station. Right off the bat I told him that I was in a wedding and have anxiety about getting my nails done. I have a habit of messing with my cuticles/nail beds, but that didn’t thwart him at all. He reassured me, told me he would make me feel pretty and I let him go to work. I went with a shorter set so I could have more usability, and asked for oval shape. We didn’t speak much other than him asking if I was okay or if it looked alright, which I was more than fine with. I’m an introvert and I’m sure that could be sensed on me. I listened to my tunes, he did his work on my hands and feet. He also offered me a sugar scrub which felt awesome! Once my nails dried, he took my payment for his service. I went to tip him, because the sign at the front desk said cash tips only, but their ATM was down. I asked the receptionist how I’m supposed to tip. She said “some of them have Venmo but that’s it” and wouldn’t assist me any other way. Thankfully Thomas had Venmo, so I tipped well and was on my way. Overall, it was a good experience. I feel like the shape of my nails could be a bit more symmetrical, but if we’re being honest, they’ll probably be coming off in like two weeks anyway. I’m just not a nail girl. Thomas was the best part of the experience, the receptionist needs retrained. Will likely go again if I have an occasion that calls for it. Nails and toes done for under $100 before tip.

I don’t often write reviews, but I would not recommend coming here for nails—especially for a special event. I visited on Friday with the inspiration photo (attached) for my wedding trial set, as my wedding is in three weeks. I specifically asked if chrome would look good on top, and the technician (Vivian or Lillian?) assured me it would. She selected the dip colors and chrome and began working on my nails. After applying the first layer of dip, she asked if I was okay with the color. I immediately pointed out that it looked clear rather than pink. She then got up, grabbed another color, and continued without further clarification. There was a language barrier, but instead of asking questions, she just nodded and proceeded. By the time we reached the end, my nails were still clear. When I showed her the original inspiration photo, she called over a manager and informed me that chrome couldn’t be applied over an ombré base—only over a solid color. Had I been given that information from the start, I would have opted for the ombré pink without chrome. At that point, they offered to layer ombré on top, but since that would have made my nails too thick, I had no choice but to settle for chrome only. Considering this was a trial for my wedding nails, I was obviously very disappointed. What made the experience even worse was the complete lack of effort to remedy the situation—no offer to come back for a fix, no price adjustment, nothing. I was still charged $96. I had if they could at least remove the charge for the single glass of champagne I had and then back and forth about the up charge for chrome. Now I have to pay to get these removed and trial somewhere else. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning. If you're looking for a place that prioritizes customer satisfaction and clear communication, I’d recommend going elsewhere.
