We expected so much more from the videos we saw to the reviews on the site. But it was absolutely nothing like the videos and I can't really trust the reviews I read to be by people that saw what we saw. From technical difficulties to very subpar acting, needless to say we were incredibly disappointed. The one decent participant was the hostess as she was on point and dressed appropriately for her part. But the detectives were amateurish at best with a silly, poorly executed slapstick routine that missed the mark completely. One of the detectives with the long hair kept forgetting her lines while the other dark haired detective was dressed so shabbily it made the character both non-believable and disappointing. The storyline was rushed and made hardly any sense unless you went to their website for a refresher on clues. It felt so haphazardly produced and confusing that most of our table were lost and confused by the second break. Even total strangers we never met felt as if they spent much more money than they should have for the experience. The food was adequate but not what I would call a "dinner", more of a snack/lunch of burritos and nachos.
I can't see spending near 150 dollars for two people on a production that belonged in a high school play at best. There seem to be other actors on the website and in the videos they have produced that were much more convincing and dressed much better for the role than what we experienced. I'd take a refund if I could get one but they do not offer refunds after you purchase. I am saddened that this was my first, and probably last, dinner...
Read moreThis event begins with you, making a name tag that is not your name. It might be the name of a famous detective or a famous murderer! Next, have someone take a picture of your group in front of the lineup screen. Props include a huge knife, a hammer and signs that say he did it or she did it. Now you enter the room where the murder was committed. The outline of the victim is on the floor for all to see. The clues begin. You are given an instruction sheet where you can write down your clues because you will want to play alone and try to guess who the murderer is. Or are there several murderers? You just donât know. An email clue arrives. A newspaper article appears. Numbers and names and dates are very important.
That one guy that yelled was the best actor of the whole bunch! ! This was a lot of fun nice evening out. We had a table of six and we all had a lot of fun. The Food was a nutritious buffet with lemonade, tea, and water available. This was a very exciting evening that I recommend you try at least once, but you may want to come back for a different show in a...
Read moreDinner detectives completely surprised me. I thought that after 3 hours the only emotion Iâd be feeling is anger at trying to figure out all the disparate clues, but instead, not only did things make sense, they were hilarious. I loved all of the âbriefâ jokes that were made and how into character the actors were. Most of all, I loved that I was able to include my girlfriend in that joke with the suspect package. Many thanks and...
