After COVID you can still see the small businesses struggling, I seen one that I did not expect to see(sigh) AVON!, they even have some Cologne that is just as good as the name brands, I have over 250 Calognes and was Blown away at the quality of their products & Price was Good to fairish and the Milk stand as always Gershen I think? was Awesome! 1 dollar all the chocolate or regular milk you want that day, however the rides were nice but the fact that they had 5 sitting to the side is kind of a slap in the face, if they are broke fix them cut the lines down they do not need to be that long, the food well it's all pretty basic next time I'm bringing my own food the middle folks that served brats were not shy about giving a full bratwurst to someone that was of the same decent and others got half the amount I actually stuck around to watch and next time that won't happen if they want to play favoritism / underhanded racism do it elsewhere! we are all equal, the prices are crazy high 3 dollars for a small pop and 10 for 1/2 a bratwurst? I don't think so, it's an insult to think that price gouging is still in existence btw there is no law that states you have to eat what they sell, only 1 place sold a salad and do get me wrong we are there to cut loose but not at the expense of new car prices, Come on. State Fair don't be sellouts remember who your bread and butter are, bring the circus tent back up and the monkey and the way you had it 3 yrs ago your loosing yourself with thinking of only sales a person feels cornered in to buy and if you make prices A little fair you will learn that people will buy because they want to not because of the boxed...
Read moreMy visit to the Michigan State Fair was, to put it mildly, underwhelming. As someone who’s lived in various states and experienced a range of state fairs, I was expecting a grander event. State fairs are typically known for their vast grounds, diverse attractions, and vibrant atmosphere, but Michigan’s fell short of the mark. It was small—surprisingly so for a state fair. I couldn't help but compare it to the Texas State Fair, which sets the gold standard for what a state fair should be: expansive, bustling with a variety of food options, rides, and entertainment that caters to all ages.
At the Michigan State Fair, I found myself navigating through a limited number of exhibits and food vendors, which lacked the diverse offerings and sheer scale that make fairs so exciting. There were fewer rides, and the overall atmosphere felt more like a local county fair than a state-wide event. While the Michigan State Fair had its charms and moments of enjoyment, it didn’t quite capture the essence of the big, bold experience I was looking forward to. For a state fair, especially in a state like Michigan, I expected more—and couldn't help but think they could take a few notes from the Texas State Fair on how to deliver a truly...
Read moreI'm sorry to leave a not great rating, but I went to the fair yesterday and thought it was pretty terrible compared to the old state fair on the state fairgrounds. It was so cramped and crowded. The lines were so long for rides, we paid $30 for the unlimited rides and could only get on the outside rides once because the lines were absolutely horrendous and too long and we couldn't get on some of the rides, like the OMG ride or the spinning ride. Also, because it was so cramped you could not see where the lines were starting or how long the lines were because everything was so jumbled, people kept jumping in front of the lines because they didn't know where the lines started. I am not sure why the state fair moved from the Detroit state fairgrounds, but if you are going to do this, please move it to a bigger space. If it is going to continue to be held here, then there needs to be a limit on the number of people coming in because it was too many people too cramped and unorganized. While our kids had a good time, I personally was disappointed to have paid $60 for unlimited rides and could not get on many of the rides due to the long lines/overcrowding. It was not worth all the...
