We love the Aloha Stadium Flea Market and make a point of going there before birthdays or Christmas to purchase favorites types of clothing and food our mainland families love to have. You can find inexpensive t-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts, long-sleeve shirts, shorts, bathing suits, aloha shirts, dresses, baby clothes, Hawaiian quilts, salt water taffy, scented soaps, cuttings for tropical trees, ukuleles, luggage, footwear, stickers, temporary tattoos, local preserved seeds, fresh fruit, jewelry, fresh coffees, pareos, cookies, homemade jams and jellies, hats, purses, aprons, coin purses, and so much more for a fraction of the cost you'd pay outside.
If you plan to go there here are the hours of operation and the cost. Swap Meet Hours: Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Sundays from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Admission: $1.00 per buyer. Children 11 years and under are FREE. **as a friendly reminder animals are not allowed at the stadium.
You'll find LOTS of t-shirt vendors and notice many have the same designs, but do shop around because some vendors sell their shirts 4/$20 and others sell them 7/$20. The 7/$20 tend to be thinner material and there are also other shirts like those from Aloha Swapmeet Shirts that are the best quality and patterned shirts we've found there. The prices for Aloha Swapmeet shirts run about $20 to $22, I believe depending on the size. We've purchase about a dozen different shirts from them already.
Another favorite spot when my granddaughter visits is the salt water taffy place. Hawaiian Salt Water Taffy lilikoi flavor is her absolute favorite and I can literally bribe her with it.
My husband likes to buy preserved seeds from the vendors. There are at least a couple on any given day that I've noticed and some have a bigger variety than others.
You can find a good selection of souvenirs and gift type items as well so do take a day to explore the flea market when you have some time. The price is definitely right, but do go early so you can find parking. The weekends are especially busy and the parking lot fills up fast especially on the weekends. We got there ten minutes after they opened the last time we went there and the lot was already packed. Granted it was before Christmas, but still, do try to arrive by 8:00 a.m. if you want to score a prime...

My first Aloha Stadium experience was in December 1990 when the UH Rainbows football team trampled BYU, 59-28. Man, that felt good!
Being from Maui where our stadium is about 96% smaller in terms of capacity, I felt like I was in an NFL venue. I was so awestruck at the size and sounds coming from this 50,000-seat complex that I even drew a replica of it, best I could, in my "I'm-going-to-be-an-architect" aspiration-era age of 13.
We sat in the blue section, perfect I thought as we had overhead protection from the nosebleed seats above. Other memory-makers were the nasty urinal troughs in the men's restroom and the seemingly never-ending spiral access "staircase".
Since then I also attended concerts of Whitney Houston (Pacific Rim Tour, 1997), Janet Jackson (Velvet Rope Tour, 1998) and Mariah Carey (Butterfly World Tour, 1998). I was even dragged to the swap meet, going round and round looking at the same junk, I mean stuff.
QUICK FACTS: Opened in September 1975 Closed in December 2020 (deemed unsafe due to rusting) The four sideline seat sections were movable via air casters which would transform the football oval into a diamond-configuration for baseball and soccer games A new, smaller stadium (30,000 seats) is planned on the same property along with some restaurants, retail and a hotel,...
Read moreThis review is based on my first visit in 7 months since leaving for training in Texas. I was attending the Dream Weekend event. To get straight to the point - everything ran smooth. From pulling in to park (I caught an Uber) and showing my digital copies of my tickets to concession stand visits - the overall experience was nice with little interruption. If I could offer any advice, it would be to use the restroom during breaks between acts or intermissions. Also, depending on how you feel about staying until the very end of an event here; either secure a ride from friends or family (if you're not driving or planning to drink) or secure an Uber / Lyft / Taxi AKA ride-share before fare prices begin to surge. The adjacent drive throughs may be closed depending on the schedule, so plan accordingly as you won't be able to grab food without a car. Overall, the place was clean & staff was nice. Plan ahead, bring portable power for your personal electronics and for your car battery if you're feeling extra cautious, secure transportation and attending events here will be smooth...
